GS-450 (ST4500T) Troubleshooting Guide

The GS-450 is an OBD-II device designed for quick installation for On-Road vehicle tracking. If your device is not working as expected, please follow the steps below.

Updated over 2 months ago

1. Confirm Power and LEDs

  • Plug the GS-450 into the OBD-II port (or through the included Y-splitter harness).

  • Turn the vehicle’s ignition to the ON position, or start the engine.

  • Check the device’s LEDs:

    • Normal Operation: The red and blue LEDs flash simultaneously when the device is powered and communicating.

    • No LEDs: The device is not receiving power.

2. Common Issues and Solutions

A. No LEDs or No Power

  • Ensure the GS-450 is firmly connected to the OBD-II port or Y-splitter.

  • Try connecting the device directly to the OBD-II port (without the splitter).

  • If the device powers on without the splitter, the Y-splitter harness may be defective. Contact support for a replacement.

B. Device Has Power, But No Location Updates

  • The GS-450 requires a clear view of the sky to connect to GPS satellites.

  • If installed under heavy metal surfaces (e.g., inside a metal dash enclosure), the device may not receive a GPS signal.

  • Try relocating the device to a port or area with better sky visibility.

3. Next Steps

If you have completed the steps above and the device still does not function properly:

  • Note the LED behavior when the device is powered.

  • Contact Support and provide:

    • Vehicle make, model, and year.

    • Whether a Y-splitter was used.

    • LED status when the engine is running.
