CSV Exports (Primary Method) The most common way to move VST data into accounting systems is through CSV exports. You can generate these CSV files manually using the Export Batch function on the Edit, Approve, and Export page or the Virtual Shift Ticket Summary, or they can be scheduled and emailed automatically. These files are then imported directly into your ERP or accounting software, such as Viewpoint Vista or Spectrum.
Custom Export Templates To ensure the exported CSV data seamlessly matches what your accounting software expects, FleetWatcher allows you to configure custom export templates. Using the Define Custom Shift Ticket Exports page, you can set up templates with the exact column order, rounding rules, and headers required by systems like Viewpoint Vista, specific Excel formats, or custom payroll imports.
REST APIs and Business Intelligence For automated and more technical data pipelines, FleetWatcher supports REST APIs to pull VST data directly into your IT environments. VST data can also be fed into business intelligence tools like PowerBI using specific API endpoints tied to your VST export templates. Additionally, AEMP feeds are available for pushing equipment data.
System Limits and Export Best Practices When feeding large amounts of ticket data into your accounting software, the system relies on a few volume guidelines:
Batch Sizes: It is strongly recommended to keep your export batches at or below 2,000 tickets to ensure optimal database performance.
Email Delivery: If you attempt to run a Preview Export for a batch containing more than 100 tickets, the system may queue the export in the background and email the CSV file to you rather than downloading it directly in the browser.
