Auto Calibration

To make it easier for users to install and use our device, we have introduced an auto-calibration feature. Users simply need to install the device in the appropriate position and adjust the camera angle using our dedicated app to complete the installation process. All DMS functions will operate after auto calibration is completed.

  1. The vehicle speed must be greater than 20 km/h.

  2. Auto calibration takes approximately 15 sec.

  3. It calculates installation parameters algorithmically based on the driver's stable seating posture for calibration.

Here are the detailed descriptions and the conditions that triggers DMS Events:

1. Distraction: Distraction detected, keep eyes on road

This distraction event will be triggered when the driver turns their head to the left, right, up, or down for longer than the below detection time.

  • Trigger Condition

The distraction function will activate when the vehicle speed surpasses 20 km/h.

2. Fatigue: Sleepy detected, Stay Alert

This fatigue event will be triggered when the driver's eyes remain closed continuously for longer than the specified detection duration.

  • Trigger Condition

The fatigue detection function activates once the vehicle speed goes over 20 km/h.

3. Lens Cover: Inward camera is blocked. Please remove the obstacle

  1. The event will be triggered when the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km/h and the driver cannot be detected continues for 1 minute.

  2. The DMS will be disabled temporarily when the lens be covered over 1 minute. When the driver can be detected again, the camera will re-calibrate (approximately 30 seconds) and the DMS will be turned back on.

  3. In order to save network usage, the interval time for event triggering will be increased by the power of 2 (Unit:min), and only event snapshot will be uploaded to VisionMax.

4. Phone Usage: Cell phone usage

This phone usage event will be triggered under the following driving behavior.

  • The driver uses a mobile phone and holds it close to his/her ear

  • The driver types message or holds a mobile phone.

  • Trigger Condition

The phone usage event activates once the vehicle speed goes over 20 km/h.

5. Unfasten Seatbelt: Danger Fasten Your Seatbelt

This event is triggered when the system detects that the driver is not wearing a seat belt.

  • Trigger Condition

The unfasten seatbelt event activates once the vehicle speed goes over 20 km/h.
