Introduction
The Equipment Temperatures report displays temperature readings collected from BUS-connected devices. It helps users monitor engine and system temperatures for better diagnostics and maintenance planning.
Note: An alert can be set for both lower and upper temperature limits. These thresholds are defined by the user on the Alerts page.
Important: This report is only available for BUS-connected devices.
However, not all equipment will provide data for all eight temperature types. The availability of specific temperature readings depends on the equipment's manufacturer and the data it makes available through the BUS connection.

Report Filters
Use the filters at the top of the page to customize the Equipment Temperatures report:
Equipment Number (Required)
Select from a list of all BUS-connected equipment. Only equipment with a BUS-connected device will appear in this dropdown.Temperature (Required)
Choose from a list of eight predefined temperature types.
Note: This list is not dynamically filtered. Selecting a temperature type does not guarantee that the selected equipment will provide that data.Start Date / End Date
Enter a custom date and time range for the report. If no date range is entered, the report defaults to showing data from the last 24 hours.
Click Generate Report to display results, or Print Table to export the data.
Temperature Type Descriptions
Temperature Type | Description |
Ambient Air Temperature | The temperature of the air surrounding the equipment, measured externally. |
Engine Air Intake Temperature | The temperature of air entering the engine’s intake system. |
Engine Coolant Temperature | The temperature of the coolant fluid circulating through the engine. |
Engine Fuel Temperature 1 | The temperature of the fuel before or during delivery to the engine. |
Engine Intercooler Temperature | The air temperature after compression but before entering the intake manifold. |
Engine Oil Temperature 1 | The temperature of the engine’s lubricating oil. |
Engine Turbocharger Oil Temperature | The temperature of the oil cooling and lubricating the turbocharger system. |
Transmission Oil Temperature | The temperature of the oil inside the transmission system. |
These values help monitor system performance and prevent overheating or early wear. Not all equipment will report all temperature types.
Configuring Temperature Alerts
Users can create temperature alerts by setting lower and/or upper limits for any of the eight available temperature types. Alerts notify designated recipients when a temperature reading exceeds the defined thresholds.
How to Set Temperature Alerts
Units: Select either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F) for limit entry.
Note: All values are stored in °C internally. Fahrenheit values are converted and rounded when saved.Temperature Triggers:
Each temperature type allows for both a Lower Limit and an Upper Limit. Leave either field blank if you don’t want to trigger an alert for that range.
Assigning Alert Recipients
You can send alerts to individual users, project-based roles, or both.
User Recipients (Slots 1–5):
Slots 1–4: Select users from the system (pulled from the Add/Edit Users page).
Slot 5: Enter a custom email address manually for one-time or external recipients.
Project-Based Roles:
Checkboxes are available for roles such as Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, and custom labels (Other 1, Other 2).
When a role is selected (e.g., Foreman), the alert will be sent to the assigned contact for that role, based on the equipment’s project location (as defined in the Project Form).
This allows dynamic routing of alerts based on where the equipment is operating.
Optional: Enable Can Snooze for any recipient or role to allow them to temporarily pause alerts.
Additional Alert Options
Subject Line: Customize the subject line of the alert email.
Email Settings:
Enable/disable email alerts.
Include a hyperlink to the asset’s location in the email if desired.
Apply Alert Scope: Use the buttons on the right to apply the alert to specific Companies, Asset Types, Equipment, Equipment Types, and Projects.
