Introduction:
This article explains what the LED lights mean on all supported tracking devices, including CalAmp, Pacific Track, TOPFLYtech, NimbeLink, SunTech, and WirelessLinks. Whether you’re checking battery lights, GPS signal, or cellular/Sat connection, this guide helps you understand what solid lights, flashing lights, or no lights mean for each device. Use this reference when troubleshooting device status or confirming a successful installation.
CalAmp:
Green LED:
Solid: GPS connected.
Flashing slowly: GPS connecting.
Flashing quickly: GPS available, but not connected.
Orange LED:
Solid: Network signal acquired and ignition is on.
Flashing quickly: Cell network signal not available with ignition on.
Flashing slowly: Searching for data network or ignition is off.
Red LED

Flashing Light: Device is searching for GPS signal.
Third LED – Battery Charge
Solid Light: Battery is fully charged.
Flashing Light: Battery is charging.
Bottom LED – Sat/Cell Connectivity
Solid Light: Device is connected to satellite or cellular network.
Flashing Light: Device is trying to connect to the network.
LED Behavior Summary:
Solid Lights = Connected or Fully Charged
Flashing Lights = Trying to Connect or Charging
Tip:
If your device lights continue flashing for more than 10 minutes, it may be in a poor signal area. Try moving it outdoors or closer to open sky for better connectivity.
NimbeLink:
Blue LED
Flashing: cellular connection establishing.
Solid: Connected with Cell
Red LED
Flashing: The device needs to be plugged in for power.
Solid: The device is connected.
SunTech:
Indication with Two(2) LED:
RED LED indicates GPS status.
Blue LED indicates GPRS/HSPA status.
Turn On/Off – Turn ON:
If you put a magnet on the sensor position for more than 2 seconds, the device will be turned on. Then Red and blue LEDs blink together twice. When the power is on, the Red LED will be lit for 3 seconds.
Turn OFF:
If you put a magnet on the sensor position for more than 2 seconds when the device is turned on, the device will be turned off. Then the Red LED only blinks six(6) times. When the power is off, the Red LED will blink once a second.
LED Flash Pattern when Using MagKey: GS-495, GS-495c
Action | MagKey In Position | LED Flash Pattern |
Turn Device On | 3 s or longer | 3 Red, then when GPRS: OK, 1 Blue |
Turn Device Off | 3 s or longer | 2 Blue, then 15 Red |
Check Status | 1s | 2 Red = Off | 2 Blue = On |
WirelessLinks:
No Visible Lights
