Introduction
FleetWatcher supports direct DOT integration for customers who need to submit scale ticket data to state transportation agencies. When both the Project and Shift are marked as DOT-enabled, scale tickets generated during that shift will be flagged and transmitted to the appropriate DOT portal — provided the API is configured.
Navigation
To enable DOT support:
Go to: MMS > Shifts > Add/Edit Shifts
Also set: DOT checkbox in the related Project
Enabling DOT on a Shift
Go to the What section of the shift
Check the DOT checkbox
Make sure the related Project also has its DOT checkbox selected
The Project’s address must include a valid State value
If either the Shift or Project lacks DOT configuration, tickets will not be flagged or submitted.
Requirements
DOT API integration must be enabled by your FleetWatcher team
The Project must include a valid State to determine the correct DOT portal
DOT tickets only process automatically if all conditions are met at the time of ticket issuance
How It Works
When the shift runs and scale tickets are issued:
Tickets are flagged as DOT tickets in FleetWatcher
Tickets are bundled and sent to the appropriate state API (if configured)
The tickets appear in the DOT submission logs for that agency
Notes
You can turn the DOT setting on or off per shift
FleetWatcher does not retroactively re-flag tickets if DOT is enabled after the shift starts
This feature is only available to customers with an active DOT API setup
