TCpT Calculation Settings

Configure how FleetWatcher calculates Trucking Cost per Ton (TCpT) using geo-zone entry/exit time logic, not VST rules.

Introduction

FleetWatcher provides a configurable setting that determines how truck working time is calculated for the TCpT KPI. This setting defines the time window used in cost calculations, based on when trucks enter or exit geozones during a shift — not based on VST clock-in/out or pay rate rules.

Navigation

To access this setting:

Go to: MMS > Shifts > Add/Edit Shifts

Scroll to the bottom of the page, just above the Activate Shift buttons

Look for the First Enter to Last Enter/Exit Geozone TCpT Calculation Settings dropdown

Available TCpT Time Calculation Methods

Option

Description

First Enter to Last Exit

Calculates time from when a truck first enters a shift-related geozone to when it exits the last time

First Enter to Last Enter

Uses time from first enter to last enter only — ignores exit time

Last Enter Only

Measures truck time based only on its last entry into a shift-related zone

These options control how TCpT time is calculated for each truck on the shift. They are not used for Virtual Shift Tickets, shift display, or driver pay.

Why This Matters

The time window selected here directly affects:

  • Total working time assigned to each truck

  • The cost component of the TCpT KPI

  • How long a truck is considered “on shift” for cost evaluation

TCpT KPI Formula (Simplified)

TCpT = (Total Trucking Cost) ÷ (Tons Hauled)

  • Trucking Cost is based on:

    • Time spent on shift (as defined by this setting)

    • Truck’s hourly or load-based pay rate

  • Tons Hauled is based on scale tickets or load estimates

Example: First Enter to Last Exit

  • A truck enters the Source at 7:30 AM

  • It runs several cycles throughout the day

  • It leaves the Destination zone at 2:45 PM for the last time
→ TCpT working time = 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM

Notes

  • These settings apply only to the TCpT KPI and TCpT Report

  • You must set this before the shift is activated

  • If left blank, FleetWatcher may use the default logic set in MMS Controls

  • This setting does not control driver time, VSTs, or shift card visibility
