Device: GS-AT2
Power Source: 4 × AA Lithium Ion Batteries
Ingress Protection Rating: IP67
Reporting Frequency: Twice daily
Expected Battery Life: 1–3 years (usage dependent)
1 Purpose
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly installing and commissioning the GS-AT2 device to ensure reliable operation and long-term durability.
2 Pre-Installation Inspection
Remove the GS-AT2 from its packaging.
Inspect the device casing for any cracks, breaks, or visible damage.
Important: If the casing is damaged, the device no longer meets its IP67 rating and must not be installed.
Confirm that all four AA batteries are installed and seated correctly.
3 Mounting Location Selection
Identify a mounting location on the equipment that:
Has a clear view of the sky to ensure proper GPS and communication performance.
Is protected from impact, excessive vibration, and areas where the device could be struck, scraped, or knocked loose.
Verify the selected location will not interfere with normal equipment operation or maintenance.
4 Device Mounting Options
Once the mounting location has been verified, secure the GS-AT2 using one of the following approved methods.
Option A — Bolt Mounting
Use the two pre-drilled mounting holes located on the device.
Drill two corresponding holes into the equipment surface.
Align the device with the drilled holes.
Secure the device using bolts.
Tighten until the device is firmly secured and does not move.
Do not over tighten. Excessive force can crack the casing.
Warning: Any damage to the casing voids the device’s IP67 rating.
Option B — Self-Tapping Screws
Align the device at the selected mounting location.
Use self-tapping screws through the two mounting holes.
Secure the device without drilling completely through the equipment.
Confirm the device is mounted firmly and does not shift.
5 Device Coupling
Once the device is securely mounted, couple the GS-AT2 to the corresponding piece of equipment using the appropriate platform or system.
Verify the device is correctly associated with the intended asset.
6 Operation & Reporting
The GS-AT2 reports twice daily.
Based on reporting frequency and operating conditions, expected battery life ranges from 1 year up to 3 years.
7 Battery Maintenance Recommendation
To minimize the risk of unexpected device failure, it is strongly recommended to replace all four Lithium Ion AA batteries once per year, regardless of remaining battery life.
Proactive battery replacement ensures consistent reporting and reduces service interruptions.
