2 Pre-Installation Inspection

  1. Remove the LMU-364 device from its packaging.

  2. Inspect the device for any visible damage.

    • Do not install the device if damage is present.

  3. Verify you have the correct harness for the vehicle or equipment.

    • The LMU-364 may ship with different harnesses depending on application.

  4. Confirm the harness includes a diagnostic splitter.

3 Accessing the Installation Area

  1. Remove the necessary dashboard panels.

    • This provides clear visibility and access to the diagnostic port and mounting area.

  2. Identify a suitable location under the dash where the device can be mounted securely and out of sight.

4 Diagnostic Port Integration

  1. Locate the OEM diagnostic port.

  2. Remove the diagnostic port from its mounting bracket.

    • The port may be secured using:

      • Multiple small screws or bolts, or

      • A single retaining nut

  3. Once removed:

    • Connect one side of the provided harness to the OEM diagnostic port.

    • Use the opposite side of the harness as the new diagnostic port.

  4. Mount the new diagnostic port back into the original mounting bracket location.

    • This maintains full diagnostic access for future service.

5 Device Connection & Placement

  1. Connect the LMU-364 device to the remaining end of the harness.

  2. Route the device as high under the dashboard as possible.

Mounting Location Guidance

  • Do not mount the device under the steering column.
This may restrict GPS signal and delay satellite acquisition.

  • Recommended location:
Directly under the top of the dashboard.

    • Provides a clear view of the sky through the windshield

    • Keeps the device hidden from view

  • Important: The LMU-364 is not IP67 rated and must be installed inside the vehicle, protected from moisture and environmental exposure.

6 Initial Power-On & Device Verification

  1. Start the vehicle or equipment.

  2. Allow it to run for 10–15 minutes.

    • This allows the device to:

      • Check for and apply updates

      • Acquire GPS satellites

  3. Verify the device LED indicators.

    • Orange LED: Solid

    • Green LED: Solid

Note: These LED indicators are located next to where the harness plugs into the device.

7 Reporting Verification

  1. With the equipment running, open the mobile app.

  2. Use Verify GPS Device to confirm the device is communicating.

  3. Confirm the following events appear:

    • Engine Running packet

  4. Shut off the equipment.

  5. Confirm an Engine Stop Running packet appears in the app.

8 Final Mounting & Cleanup

  1. Once all verification steps are complete, mount the LMU-364 device securely in the selected under-dash location.

  2. Secure the harness using zip ties to prevent:

    • Excess movement

    • Pinching

    • Kinking

  3. Route wiring along a clear path away from sharp edges and moving parts.

  4. Reinstall all dashboard panels carefully.

  5. Perform a final visual check to ensure:

    • Wiring is secure

    • The device is hidden and firmly mounted
