Zone Analysis Rule Sets: Grouping and Default Settings
While individual Zone Analysis Rules define specific travel lanes (like "Plant to Paver"), Zone Analysis Rule Sets allow you to group multiple rules together into a single, cohesive configuration.
You can think of a Rule Set as a "playbook." When a Virtual Shift Ticket (VST) is created, FleetWatcher looks at the assigned Rule Set to determine exactly which travel patterns should be applied to that shift's activity.
Navigation: Go to MMS > Virtual Shift Tickets > Zone Analysis Rule Sets.
(Note: Because Rule Sets directly impact how VSTs are generated, access to create, edit, or delete them is restricted strictly to users with administrative permissions).
Prerequisite: Create Your Rules First
Before you can build a Rule Set, you must first create the individual Zone Analysis Rules on the Zone Analysis Rules page. You cannot group rules that do not exist yet!
How to Build a Rule Set
Creating a custom Rule Set is a simple drag-and-drop process.
Select or Create: Choose an existing Rule Set from the dropdown to edit it, or begin building a new one.
Drag and Drop: Click and drag your desired rules from the available list on the left into your Rule Set box on the right.
Manage the List:
Click Clear Last Rule if you made a mistake and need to remove the most recently added rule.
Click Start Over to clear the entire box and begin again.
Save: Once your rules are grouped correctly, click Save This Ruleset.
The "Default Rule Set" (The Catch-All)
In addition to custom Rule Sets tailored for specific jobs (like "Dirt Haul" or "Asphalt Paving"), your system must have one Rule Set officially designated as the Default.
How it Works: The Default Rule Set acts as the ultimate catch-all. If a shift or a ticket is not explicitly assigned to a specific custom Rule Set, FleetWatcher will automatically fall back to the Default Rule Set to interpret the GPS activity.
System Logic: FleetWatcher does not simply use the first Rule Set in your database list. The Default Rule Set is explicitly flagged in the backend system. There should effectively be exactly one Default Rule Set active in your system at any time.
Deleting a Rule Set
If you need to clean up old or test configurations, you can delete a Rule Set.
Deleting a Rule Set removes it from the list of selectable options, preventing it from being used on any new or future VSTs.
Historical Data: Deleting a Rule Set does not automatically alter or recalculate existing historical tickets that were already created using that configuration.
