Introduction
Some plants are not fixed in one place. Portable plants, such as a mobile asphalt or aggregate plant, get moved from job to job over time. In FleetWatcher, a portable plant is tracked using a Plant ID that is linked to a project. When the plant physically moves to a new job site, that Plant ID needs to be unlinked from the old project and relinked to the new one so new scale tickets and production data get attributed to the correct job.
Because this relink affects how data flows into your account, it is handled by FleetWatcher Support rather than done directly by customers in the system.
Steps
When a portable plant is being moved to a new job, contact FleetWatcher Support (support@fleetwatcher.com) with the Plant ID and the name of the new project.
Support will unlink the Plant ID from the current project.
Support will relink the Plant ID to the new project so future scale tickets are attributed correctly.
Once the move is complete, new production data will appear under the new project on the Plant Production page.
Notes
Historical data tied to the plant's previous project assignment is not lost. It stays associated with that original project. To review it, look up the old project directly, rather than the plant, in your reporting.
Because relinking is a backend change, allow for some turnaround time when requesting it. It is not instant.
If you are planning a portable plant move in advance, reaching out to Support before the move happens helps avoid a gap in tracked data.
