Overview
A CLA device is a GPS tracking device that plugs directly into your truck's cigarette lighter port (CLA stands for Cigarette Lighter Adapter). Because it plugs in rather than being wired in, there is very little to troubleshoot: mainly, whether it is plugged in correctly and whether the lights show it is connected.
There are two CLA devices, and they show status differently, so check which one you have before troubleshooting:
GS-283c: has two lights (green, amber)
GS-495c: has two lights (red, blue)
GS-283c: Checking the Lights
Look at the device plugged into the CLA port.
Check the green light (GPS):
Solid green = connected, working normally
Flashing green = still searching, give it a few minutes
Check the amber light (cellular):
Solid amber = connected, working normally
Flashing amber = still searching for signal
If both lights are solid, your device is working normally. No further action needed.
GS-495c: Checking the Lights
Look at the device plugged into the CLA port.
Check the red light (GPS) and blue light (cellular).
If you have a magnetic key (MagKey), hold it near the sensor for about 1 second to check status:
2 red flashes = device is off
2 blue flashes = device is on and working
If the MagKey check shows 2 blue flashes, your device is working normally. No further action needed.
If the Lights Don't Look Right (Either Device)
Unplug the device and plug it back in firmly. Loose connections are the most common cause of a light issue.
Move the truck to an open area, away from garages, metal carports, or other overhead cover, and wait 2 to 3 minutes.
Check the lights again.
If the lights still aren't solid after these steps, contact Support (see below).

Note
FleetWatcher can also alert you automatically if a CLA device is unplugged while the truck is moving. Ask your administrator if the "CLA Unplugged and Moving" notification is turned on for your company. If it is, you don't need to check the lights at all to know something's wrong.
