This guide is intended to help diagnose and resolve common issues with the GS-2900 device. Follow the steps below in order, and contact FleetWatcher Support if problems persist after troubleshooting.
Step 1: Check Device Indicator Lights
Press the power/status button on the GS-2900.
Allow 5 to 10 seconds for the indicator lights to respond.
Observe the green LED:
Blinking Green Light: Device is operating correctly and detecting engine running.
Solid Green Light: Indicates loss of communication — either cellular signal or GPS satellites are unavailable.
No Light: Proceed to Step 2 to investigate power and charging.
Step 2: If Green Light is Blinking but No Engine Packets Are Transmitting
Power cycle the device:
Turn off the GS-2900.
Wait 30 to 60 seconds.
Turn it back on.
Recheck the LED light and confirm if engine packets are being transmitted.
If the issue persists:
Proceed to Step 4 to contact FleetWatcher Support.
Step 3: If No Lights Are Displayed
This may indicate a power or charging issue.
Verify recent charging:
Has the device been charged within the last 1–2 days?
Check the charging method and connection:
Was the correct charging port used on the device?
Inspect the CLA (Cigarette Lighter Adapter):
Is the red indicator light on the CLA illuminated?
Try charging the device using a 110V wall outlet and the provided AC wall adapter.
Check the solar panel (if used):
Is the solar panel damaged in any way?
Is it installed in a location with direct access to sunlight throughout the day?
If the device still shows no lights after confirming power and charging:
Proceed to Step 4.
Step 4: Contact FleetWatcher Support
If you've completed the troubleshooting steps above and the GS-2900 is still not functioning as expected, please contact FleetWatcher Support for further assistance.
