Load Cycle Analysis

The Load Cycle Analysis (LCA) provides a graphical representation of a shift's data.

Introduction:

The Load Cycle Analysis (LCA) provides a graphical representation of a shift's data, showing material hauling operations, time at the job, plant, and travel time. It visualizes truck cycles, geozone activity, and driver behavior, while also offering features like truck tickets, tabular reports, animation options, and load/tonnage data. The LCA helps to monitor and analyze the efficiency and productivity of jobs and drivers. The tool can also be utilized to verify truck GPS data and driver login statuses for enhanced reporting and analysis.

Key points include:

  • Access the LCA graph from an active shift or the Load Cycle Analysis page.

  • It displays time spent in four quadrants: Source, Travel to Destination, Destination, and Travel back to Source.

  • It shows when drivers enter different geozones.

  • It can reveal driver behaviors like unauthorized stops or wrong routes.

  • It provides insights into time spent at the plant and job sites.

  • It may include shift notes from the foreman.

  • Additional features include creating truck tickets, viewing tabular reports, animation options, and seeing total loads and tonnage.

Load Cycle Analysis:

Use the Report Filters to refine your search. The required fields are Shift, Start Date, and End Date. If you click Generate Report with only these fields, the LCA will display all trucks active within the selected date range. Additional functionalities include the manual review of truck activity for specific days, offering a deeper insight into truck operations and engine events.

Report Filter:

  • Shift: Select Day or Night.

  • Start Date / End Date: If no start date is selected, today’s date will be used.

  • Source / Destination Geo-zone:

    • Leave blank to display all transmitting trucks.

    • Select a Source and/or Destination to find equipment that entered a specific geo-zone.

  • Equipment Number: Click the box to view and select specific equipment.

    • Choose one or multiple pieces of equipment.

    • Select a Company Name to include all equipment under that company.

  • Filter Geo-zones: Use this search box to refine the Exclude Geo-zones section.

  • Exclude Geo-zones: Select geo-zones to exclude from the report. Excluded zones will appear in the Selected Box.

LCA Report Filters

  • Click Generate Report to display trucks matching your selected parameters.

  • Shift Ticket: Create Virtual Shift Tickets for all displayed trucks.

  • Print LCA: Print a copy of the displayed information.

Once you have Generated the report a Tabular Report will be created based on your search criteria. This button is found on the right side of the report under Display Options.


Default Legend:

The Default Legend will always be the same for all LCA Graphs

LCA Default Legend.

  • Travel: Truck is traveling outside of a geo-zone.

  • Engine On: (Horizontal Red Line) Indicate the engine is running.

  • Moving: (Horizontal Green Line) Indicate the truck is in motion. (Any break in the Green Line indicates the truck stopped).

  • Transport: (Horizontal Blue Line) This indicates the asset is moving but the FleetWatcher device does not have power. Hardwired Device: Equipment is being hauled, CLA Device: Equipment is moving, but the device is unplugged.

  • Dump: (Vertical Black Line) A dump line will appear when a loaded truck leaves the Destination Geo-zone.

  • Load: (Vertical Red Line) The Load Line appears when a scale ticket is issued for the asset.

  • Received: (Vertical Yellow Line) The Received Line appears when a scale ticket is issued for received material and is marked as received within the customer’s loadout system.

  • Clock In/Out: (Vertical Purple Line) Displays when using the Driver App to select an asset and start driving. (Contact support for more information about the Driver App and using AaaD).

The Geozone Legend will display a color for each geo-zone.

NOTE: Unlike the Default Legend, The Geozone Legend colors will change each time you load the LCA Graph.

LCA Explained:

Understanding Geo-Zones & Activity Lines in FleetWatcher.

  • Stacked Geo-Zones: Represents either a sub-geo-zone or the equipment's inner radius.

  • Travel: Indicates when equipment is outside of a geo-zone.

  • Number: The number within each geo-zone represents the total time spent in that area.

Horizontal Lines:

  • Red Line: Engine On.

  • Green Line: Equipment is moving. Breaks in the green line indicate stops.

  • Blue Line (Transport Mode): Device is moving but not receiving power from the equipment.

Examples of Blue Line:

  • CLA device is unplugged.

  • Equipment is being hauled.

Understanding Vertical Lines in FleetWatcher.

FleetWatcher uses vertical lines to mark key events in equipment activity:

  • Red Line (Load - Scale Integrated Customers): Appears when a scale ticket is issued for the equipment.

  • Black Line (Dump Location): Marks where a loaded truck leaves the destination for the last time, indicating where the dump occurred. Using the Paver as the destination ensures the most accurate dump location.

  • Purple Line (Clock In/Out): Appears when a driver selects "Start Driving" or "Stop Driving" in the Driver App, serving as a clock-in/out record.

  • Yellow Line (Received - Scale Millings): Appears when a scale ticket is issued as "received", marking the date and time the material was received.

Hover the mouse over the Red Load line, Black Dump Line, or any Geo-zone to get more details.

Click an asset name to open a Tabular Report with detailed equipment data and time spent in each quadrant. Each line represents a cycle. Click a number in a quadrant to view the breadcrumb trail for that time span. This functionality enables users to trace visited locations, review logged engine events, and identify patterns for operational efficiency.

Top-line clickable links:

  • Asset Name: Opens equipment details.

  • Quick Edit Equipment: Add an alias.

  • Shift Ticket: Activate the Virtual Shift Ticket for the truck.

  • Breadcrumb Trail: View the shift's breadcrumb trail.

Quadgraph:

The Quadgraph visually represents the four-quadrant compass in a graph.

  • Hover Over Graph: Displays time and the number of trucks in each quadrant.

  • Color Coding: Represents Source, Source-Destination, Destination, and Destination-Source.

  • Avg Calculation: Average number of trucks in a quadrant with at least one present.

  • Percentage: Time percentage spent in a quadrant.

  • Max: Maximum number of trucks in a quadrant at one time.

LCA Graph Animation:

The Animate Bar lets you set the start time for the animation.

  • Adjust Start Time: Drag the yellow circle on the red animate line to the desired time.

  • Select Asset: Choose the asset to animate from the dropdown menu.

  • Start Animation: Click the Start button to open the animation popup window.


Verifying GPS Reporting and Driver Login Status

Relevant Reports and Their Usage:

  1. GPS Transmission Activity Report:

    • Navigate to Fleet > Location > GPS Transmission Activity.

    • Use this report to see when assets reported GPS data and the duration of their activity.

  2. App-as-a-Device Fleet Status Report:

    • Navigate to Fleet > Devices > App > Fleet Status Report.

    • Use this report to check which drivers are currently logged in and their app’s status. These reports are essential for ensuring the functionality of GPS devices and validating driver utilization within the system.
