Overview:
The Device Inventory Summary Report returns lots of data about the customer’s assigned telematics devices. Some columns return data about the equipment the device is coupled to, and will therefore be blank when uncoupled. Also, many device types will only return data for some columns.
Important Note: 3rd Party Telematics Devices, such as Driver Safety Camera Systems that provide an API for telematics data, are not listed on this report until installed (coupled) to equipment and even then may not populate many of the report columns.
Standard Report Columns:
ESN: Electronic Serial Number: The unique number assigned to the device.
Equip Number: The Equipment Name and/or Number assigned to the equipment in FleetWatcher. This is also known as the Asset Name (see Add/Edit Equipment).
Manufacturer: The Equipment Manufacturer.
Model: The Equipment Model Name/Number.
Model Year: The Equipment Model Year.
Equipment Type: The Equipment’s Custom Equipment Type.
Solution Tag: This shows whether the Equipment Type is designated as MMS (Material Management Solution) or CMS (Construction Management Solution).
Note: Only FleetWatcher staff can access and update the Solution Type field on the Add/Edit Custom Equipment Types screen.
Device Company: Returns the company the device is assigned to.
Equipment Company: Returns the company the coupled equipment is assigned to.
Device MIN: This is the Sim Serial Number or the phone number of your device depending on the make and model.
Device Status: The device status will show as New, Installed, or Uninstalled.
Blue is Uninstalled.
Green is Installed.
Purple is New.
FW: FleetWatcher PEG Config Version (when available).
PEG Descr: Optional, but shown by default. Displays CalAmp device Config Group within PULS (Ping rate).
Reporting Frequency: The Reporting Frequency field is only shown when we have enough recent, consistent data from a device to reliably calculate how often it reports.
A device may not show a Reporting Frequency if:
It hasn’t reported recently (offline, powered off, no signal, or in storage).
It was just added or reactivated and hasn’t sent enough messages yet.
It only reports on specific events (not on a regular time schedule).
Its recent data is too irregular to accurately calculate a frequency. In these cases, we leave the field blank instead of displaying an unreliable value.
Config: This is the software configuration correctly on the device.
Config Desc: Decrypts firmware, config, and device model into device features of Starter Disable, (SD) Idle speed setting (IDLE) and whether it is a Cigarette Lighter Adapter (CLA) connected device.
Device Model: The model number of the device.
Connection Type: Optional, but shown by default. Hardwired, CLA or VBUS-OBO-II.
Last Transmitted: Use this to quickly find the last time the device reported into FW.
Red means the device last transmitted more than 8 days ago
Yellow means the device last transmitted between 2 and 8 days ago
Green means the device last transmitted within the last 2 days
Blue means Uninstalled
Purple means New.
Currently Coupled: The date and time of the current device/equipment coupling.
Last Decouple Date: The date and time the device was last decoupled from equipment.
First Coupled: The date and time the device was first coupled to equipment.
Equipment Battery: This is the voltage coming to the device from the vehicle. Some devices will not have a value for this (ex: GSAT2, GS-720 and GS-620). Also an important note, if a hard-wired or CLA device is disconnected from the vehicle, the LATEST message will have an Internal Battery Voltage, but no Vehicle Battery voltage. In that case, the Equipment Battery column will have a dash and a white background. Also note that on the GPS Transmission Activity Report, this column is just labeled Battery. The change to Equipment Battery on this report was intentional. For devices that do have a current value, the cell background coloring below will apply. Note that the dual ranges are to accommodate nominal 12v and 24v systems.
Green - 11-16 or 22-32
Yellow if 9-11 or 18-22
Red if 3-9 or 16-18
Internal Battery Pct Rem: This is a calculated or inferred percentage of battery life remaining in devices that are powered only by internal batteries (GS-AT2, GS-720 and the GS-620). Wired-devices don’t provide an Internal Battery Pct Rem value.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The algorithm the devices use is very simple. It resets to 100% when batteries are replaced and assumes batteries are 100% (new) when installed. It then deducts a percentage of life as events consume battery power. Therefore, if partially-used batteries are installed, the Internal Battery Pct Rem value is likely inaccurate.
Color coding for devices that have a Internal Battery Pct Rem value:
Green - 20% or more
Yellow - < 20%, but at least 10%
Red < 10%
Internal Battery: This is the voltage from the battery inside the telematics device.
Note: Different devices have different "full" voltages. For most wired CalAmp devices it is around 4.0 Volts. For GS-620 devices, it is around 5.0 Volts. For GS-AT2 devices it is around 6.7 Volts. The main reason we display this is for troubleshooting.
BLE MAC:
Division: If the customer has Company Divisions setup, this column will display the Division Code/Number.
Division Name: If the customer has Company Divisions setup, this column will display the Division Name.
Date Device Added: This is the date that the device was added to the customer’s inventory.
Optional Columns:
Additional Device Info: If the user selects this checkbox, “Additional Device Info” the following columns will appear at the end.
App ID: Application ID of the Device.
Firmware: Firmware version on the device. This is the device firmware and not the Peg Script version.
Vehicle Class: Vehicle class of the device. An optional value that can be stored in the device and used later for reporting.
Modem Sel: Modem ID Selector within the device.
Mobile ID Type: Set in the device. Unique identifier is used to identify the device in packet sending.
Query ID: Query ID of the device.
IMEI: International Mobile Equipment Identity. 15 digit number unique to each device
IMSI: International Mobile Subscriber Identity. 15 digit number associated with Global System for mobile numbers.
ICCID: Integrated Circuit Card Identifier. SIM card identifier.
VIN: Vehicle Identification Number. Either programed into the device or read from the vehicle bus.
Device Capabilities: Shows device capabilities.
Unified App Id: The AppId of the CalAmp device.
CalAmp identifies classes of device by this field. Early versions of their devices put this value in a field with a maximum value of 255. After they hit their 256th device class in the field, they could no longer put the AppId in the field, so they moved it to a new field that allows for more digits than the original field. This field in FleetWatcher is the "unified" value of either one of those fields. If the "old" CalAmp field is populated, FleetWatcher stores that value in this field. If the "new" field is populated, FleetWatcher stores that value in this field. It is never the case that both CalAmp fields are populated.
Rad FW Ver: Radio Firmware Version: The version of firmware on the cellular radio module.
BT FW Ver: Bluetooth Firmware Version: The version of firmware on the Bluetooth module.
VBUS Device Type: The Device Type (Number) of the VBUS module.
VBUS Device Type Name: The Device Type Name of the VBUS module.
VBUS HW Version: The Hardware Version of the VBUS module.
VBUS Unique Id: The Unique ID (essentially serial number) of the VBUS Module.
VBUS SW Ver: The Software (firmware) version of the VBUS module.
VBUS DB Ver: The version of vehicle database on the VBUS module. The vehicle database tells the VBUS firmware where to find specific vehicle information based on make/model/year, and sometimes additional-sub-model information.
VBUS Sys Mgr Ver: The system manager version of the VBUS module.
VBUS Boot Load Vers: The version of the VBUS module's boot loader.
