Introduction
The Add/Edit Shifts page includes several optional settings that let you fine-tune how FleetWatcher tracks and displays shift data. These settings are useful for dispatching, scale ticket filtering, KPI cleanup, and special shift types like milling or planning-only jobs.
Navigation
To access these settings:
Go to: MMS > Shifts > Add/Edit Shifts
Scroll through the What section for shift options
Match Using Company
Purpose: Filters scale tickets based on the selected Company
How it works:
Matches the Company’s Scale Customer Alias with the Customer ID or Name on scale tickets
When to use it:
To include only tickets tied to a specific company — especially useful for multi-company projects or FOB (Free On Board) sales
FOB Sales will be covered in a separate article.
Geo-zone Mask
This feature doesn’t mask anything in the sense of covering it up or replacing it with something else, it simply requires the Truck to be in the GeoZone Mask AND the paver radius before it will register as arriving at the Source or Destination.
If trucks drive through the Source/Destination radius without ALSO being in the Mask GeoZone, it will still be captured on the LCA but it won’t be counted as being at the Destination (or Source).
You can also think of this as combining two zones (a GeoZone and an Equipment radius) into a single unit/whole for the purposes of defining the Source or Destination.
Exclude Geo-zone / Exclude Equipment
Setting | What It Does |
Exclude Geo-zone | Prevents this zone from triggering LCA tracking or KPI events (e.g., staging areas or drive-throughs) |
Exclude Equipment | Ignores trucks or equipment during KPI tracking, LCA graph display, and shift metrics |
If a paver or mill is selected, all other pavers and mills are excluded automatically.
If you're running two pavers or a paver and a mill on the same shift — and one doesn’t show in the LCA — check this section to ensure it's not being excluded.
Material Type (Free Form Field)
Purpose: Adds a manual label for the type of material being moved on the shift
Use case:
For non-scale-integrated customers, enter a label like “Millings” or “Dirt” to display on shift cards and reports
For scale-integrated customers, this field is filled automatically by ticket data
Reverse Cycle
Purpose: Flips the Source and Destination logic for tracking
When to use it:
Primarily used on milling jobs, where material is removed from the jobsite (Source) and delivered to a plant (Destination)
This setting is used by a small number of customers — most users will not need to enable this
Impact:
Changes the way trucks appear in the LCA graph and how KPIs are calculated (e.g., First Load / Dump)
Notes
All of these settings are optional and shift-specific
You can edit them at any time using the Update a Shift popup
These do not impact Virtual Shift Tickets or Clock-In/Out logic unless specified elsewhere
