IFTA Setup [Legacy]

Quickly select and flag On-Road vehicles for IFTA tracking and reporting in FleetWatcher.

Introduction

In addition to tracking equipment productivity, location, and utilization, FleetWatcher helps ensure your On-Road fleet stays IFTA compliant. IFTA — the International Fuel Tax Agreement — is a fuel tax redistribution system for commercial carriers operating across jurisdictions. FleetWatcher makes IFTA setup easy and integrates reporting directly into your platform.

Requirements for IFTA Tracking

  • Only On-Road equipment can be included in IFTA reports

  • The equipment must have its IFTA flag set to Yes

  • FleetWatcher devices must be hardwired or connected via diagnostic ports (OBDII or J1939)

  • CLA devices are not recommended for IFTA tracking

    • Asset Type (On-Road or Off-Road)

  3. Select the equipment to track by checking the boxes

  5. Click Save in the top-right corner to apply changes

Alternate Method: Add/Edit Equipment

You can also flag equipment for IFTA tracking one by one:

  2. Select or add the desired vehicle

  3. Set the Asset Type to On-Road

  4. Set the IFTA Flag to Yes

  5. Click Save

Important Notes

  • If a vehicle is not marked as On-Road or does not have the IFTA flag enabled, it will not appear in IFTA reports

  • Use the IFTA Setup page for faster bulk selection or changes

  • Use Add/Edit Equipment for individual equipment flagging
