Introduction
Editing a project in FleetWatcher allows you to make updates to fields like the project name, contacts, phase codes, or scale ticket email settings. This is useful when a project’s scope changes, staffing shifts, or minor corrections are needed.
This article walks through how to open a project for editing, what can and cannot be changed, and key behaviors to watch for.
Navigation
To access this feature:
Go to: Manage > Projects > Projects
Click the Edit (pencil icon) next to the project you want to modify.
Step-by-step Instructions
Open the Edit Project Panel
Click the Edit icon (✏️) on the left side of the project row.
A slide-out panel will appear on the right.
Review and Update Fields
All fields from the original project setup can be edited:
Project Name, Type, Location, Timezone
Contact assignments (Foreman, Superintendent, etc.)
DOT checkbox and State
Custom Status, Target Tons, Scale Ticket Email
Scheduled start and end dates
Phase Codes (manual or upload)
⚠️ Do Not Change the Project Number (for MMS Customers)
If your company uses scale ticket integration (MMS), the Project Number is used to match tickets to this project.
Changing it after tickets have been issued will break historical matches.
Load counts, total tonnage, and VST data will no longer display properly.
🔒 Important: FleetWatcher cannot edit scale tickets. If a ticket is incorrect, it must be voided and reissued by the plant through the loadout system.
📝 If you don’t use MMS or scale ticket integration, you may update the Project Number as needed—just note that it may still appear on reports or shift exports.
Check for Geo-Zone Visibility
If the project includes a geo-zone, a Show Map button will appear.
Geo-zones cannot be drawn or edited from the project panel—use the Map page for those changes.
Update Display Status (Optional)
You can toggle the project between Active and Inactive.
Deactivating a project will:
Hide its geo-zone
Automatically unassign any equipment currently assigned
Log those changes in the Move Equipment page
Save or Cancel Your Changes
Click Save Project at the bottom to apply your updates.
Click Cancel Edits to discard changes and close the panel.
Use This Feature To:
Update project contacts or internal status
Add or revise Phase Codes
Correct the Timezone or adjust scheduled dates
Set or update scale ticket email recipients
Deactivate completed projects (if needed)
Review assigned geo-zones using the Show Map option
