What are automatic / auto‑generated reports?
Automatic reports (also called auto‑generated reports, automated reports, or scheduled reports) are FleetWatcher reports that:
Run automatically on a fixed schedule (for example, every day at 7 AM or every Monday at 5 AM), and
Are emailed to you and other recipients as file attachments.
Instead of logging in and exporting files manually, FleetWatcher can generate many of your existing reports for you and deliver them straight to your inbox.
Note: Automatic / auto‑generated reports are configured by the FleetWatcher team. They are not self‑service inside the app today.
What kinds of reports can be automated?
In general, if you can already run a report in FleetWatcher and export it to CSV (and in many cases PDF), we can usually automate it.
Common examples of automatic / auto‑generated reports include:
Daily or weekly utilization / productivity summaries
Daily Manual LCA tabular exports
Daily job / project summary reports (for example, reports that show engine start/stop times, runtime, project name/number, location, and date
For each scheduled report, we can typically configure:
Schedule – daily or weekly
Time of day and time zone
Date range covered each time (for example, “previous day” or “previous week”)
Recipients – one or more email addresses
File format – usually CSV, often PDF as well
If there is a specific report you already download frequently, that is usually the best starting point for an auto‑generated report.
What are the limitations?
Automatic / auto‑generated reporting has a few important boundaries:
No self‑service report builder (yet)
You can’t design fully custom automated reports yourself inside the app today.
Our team sets up the schedule and delivery on your behalf.
Based on existing FleetWatcher data
We build automatic reports from data that already exists in FleetWatcher.
In many cases, we can re‑arrange, rename, or combine columns, or add calculated fields, but we don’t invent completely new data.
Time‑based schedules only
Reports run on a set schedule (daily, weekly).
We don’t currently send reports in real time when specific events occur.
File formatting is mostly standard
CSV is the most common format.
PDF is available for many summary‑style reports.
Advanced Excel formatting (macros, embedded formulas, etc.) is not part of standard automatic reports. For internal context on CSV behavior in Excel
How long does setup take?

If you need a new report layout, combining multiple sources, or new calculated logic, this requires work from our engineering team.
These custom reports are longer‑running efforts, generally measured in a few weeks, depending on complexity and prioritization.
