Troubleshooting: Why is my Station STA field blank?

Troubleshooting missing stationing data. Learn about the "Departure Trigger," GPS requirements, and OnStation alignment coverage

Audience: Foremen / Field Users Goal: Solving "missing data" questions in real-time.

The "Departure" Rule (Important)

The most common reason for a blank STA field is checking too early.

  • The Trigger: FleetWatcher only captures the "Dump Event" and coordinates after the truck exits the Destination Geofence (Jobsite). * The Handshake: The STA field will remain blank while the truck is loading, hauling, or actively dumping.

  • Expectation: Please wait 60–90 seconds after the truck pulls away from the paver before checking the ticket for data.

Self-Service Checklist

If the truck has departed and the field is still blank, check these three factors:

  1. Check for a Map Pin: Open the ticket in FleetWatcher. Do you see a GPS pin for the "Dump" location? If the truck’s GPS tracker lost signal, we cannot ask OnStation for a station.

  2. Verify Project Mapping: Ensure your Admin has linked the FleetWatcher JobID to the correct OnStation Project.

  3. The "Blue Dot" Test: Open your OnStation Mobile App. If your "Blue Dot" is not standing on a colored alignment line, you are in an "untracked" area. Contact your OnStation Admin to extend the digital alignment to cover your current work zone.
