Introduction
This Add/Edit Equipment screen will display a list of all Active and/or Retired equipment associated with your company. This equipment list can be entered individually or bulk upload.
Navigation:
To access this feature:
Go to: Manage > Equipment > Add/Edit Equipment.
The screen will load all Active Equipment by default. To view retired equipment, simply click on the 'Retired' button.
Company Filters: Use the filters to show or hide company assets based on your selection.
Quick Action Buttons:
Select All: Displays all equipment for selected companies.
Unselect All: Hides all equipment for selected companies.
Color Indicators:
Green Company Box: Indicates that the company’s equipment is visible.
Grey Company Box: Indicates that the company’s equipment is hidden.
Optional Columns: Click on Optional Columns to activate the selection window. The popup screen will display in the Auto position by default. Uncheck Auto to access the other column headers. Select the appropriate column headers then click Optional Columns to remove the popup window. EX: UDF5 - UDF8, Note, Bus Odometer Offset, Bus Hour Meter Offset (Hours)
Clicking Go to Equipment Inventory Summary Report: will display the report in a new window.
+Add New Equipment: Click here to add individual pieces of equipment.
Reset Filter: This will reset the companies, not the Optional Columns.
If you have unchecked companies, click the Reset Filters to reselect all the company names.
Bulk Editing Equipment Details. FleetWatcher provides tools to simplify editing multiple equipment details at once using Select All, Unselect All, and Edit Batch:
Selecting Equipment:
Use the checkboxes under the Action column to select individual pieces of equipment.
Click Select All to quickly select all listed equipment.
Use Unselect All to clear all selections instantly.
Editing in Bulk:
Once the desired equipment is selected, click the Edit Batch button to open the bulk edit window.
Adjust any available fields and click Save Changes to apply updates.
Editable Fields: Manufacturer, Model, Type, Year, UDF Fields (All),Equipment Type, Asset Type, IFTA Flag, Custom Status, Equipment Status.

Actions: Edit or Retire:
Edit: Click the Edit button to the left of the equipment name to edit all fields for the individual pieces of equipment.
Retire: Click the Retire button to instantly retire equipment.
If a device is coupled to the equipment a popup warning will display. “Error: Equipment cannot be RETIRED since it is still coupled”
Navigate to Assign Device to Equipment, Decouple the equipment then return to the Add/Edit Equipment page to retire the equipment.
Equipment No (Also listed as Asset Name): How the customer identifies the piece of equipment.
Manufacturer / Type / Model: Describe what type of equipment.
TBD can be used when equipment details are not known.
NOTE: Often used for hired haulers
Year / S/N: Not required fields: (NOTE: Important for 303 Devices).
Equipment Type: The Equipment Type you have assigned to this piece of equipment.
Navigate to Add/Edit Custom Equipment Types to create or update.
Asset Type: On-Road, Off-Road , BLE Asset.
NOTE: Equipment with the Off-Road Asset Type and the Custom Equipment Type Category Off-Road Materials Truck will appear on LCAs.
This includes Shift LCAs as well as Manual LCAs.
IFTA: International Fuel Tax Agreement IFTA Setup: Select Yes to all trucks that track IFTA. (On-Road) The IFTA report will separate the miles driven in each state.
Geo-Zone Inner Radius (Feet): The inner radius, measured in feet, is used to refine geo-zone settings for specific equipment like Pavers or Mills when designated as a Source or Destination on a shift. This smaller radius will appear on the LCA graph at half the size of a standard geo-zone.
Additional Applications: Excavators or Loaders can also have an inner radius applied when defining a geo-zone radius. By entering an inner radius, FleetWatcher recognizes that this equipment can function as a Source or Destination. This is particularly useful for CMS shifts involving the movement of materials between locations.
Activity Threshold Setting: - 283, 284, and 263 are the only devices that support activity threshold.
Idle Threshold Setting: - is ONLY used for Off-Road assets (364, 365).
NOTE: The GS-364e is an On-Road device and therefore would use Roll Time.
FPM Non-Paving Threshold: This threshold determines the maximum speed, in Feet per Minute, that will be measured as paving.
Paver operation speeds above this threshold will be considered repositioning or non-paving.
NOTE: This only applies to pavers.
Feet per Minute (FpM) Non-Paving Threshold for individual Paver Equipment. This value, if entered, will override the system-wide default Non-Paving Threshold setting of 100 FpM.
This default was chosen as a rule-of-thumb for a speed where a paver is likely to be relocating rather than paving when moving at a speed above 100 FpM. If a paver is actually paving at more than 100 FpM, that high-speed paving will be lumped in with repositioning.
To support some modern pavers that are capable of paving above 100 FpM, a higher value may be entered for the Equipment record in Add/Edit Equipment. Conversely, if 100 FpM is too fast a Non-Paving Threshold, a lower value may be entered instead. If 100 FpM is an adequate Non-Paving Threshold speed, nothing needs to be entered in this new field.
Note: This new field is only present when adding or editing Pavers.
Gross Vehicle Weight: is the weight of the empty vehicle plus the weight of the maximum payload that the vehicle was designed to carry.
Device Company: Select the company that owns the equipment.
Add or edit company details by navigating to: Manage > Equipment > Add/Edit Companies page.
UDF 1 - 4: User Defined Fields allow companies to customize their equipment list while providing more details about their equipment, (ie, License plate number or warranty dates) UDF 5-8 are hidden by default under the button Optional Columns.
The additional UDF fields are available to re-label on the Manage > Company > Edit Information page.
Equipment Aliases: Use this to capture alternate or shortened asset names. This field will display all Alias names.
Status: Active or Retired.
Retired equipment will be listed under the Retired button located on the top left of the screen. It is recommended that you decouple devices before retiring equipment to avoid reporting errors.
Cust Status: See Add/Edit Equipment Statues.
ESN (Electronic Serial Number): Each FleetWatcher device is assigned a unique ESN. This field will remain blank until the device is paired with equipment via the Assign Device to Equipment page. Once coupled, the ESN displayed indicates the device currently assigned to that piece of equipment.
Account Asset Name: This field is used when the accounting department refers to a piece of equipment by a different name than the equipment manager.
Division and Division Name: If your company uses divisions in FleetWatcher, equipment will be assigned to a specific division. This section displays the division number and name associated with the equipment.
To Email: List the email address where associated scale tickets will get emailed.
CC Emails: List of all emails that will receive scale tickets from this piece of equipment.
Associated Equipment: BLE Asset entries will display asset names associated with the BLE Asset.
Associated BLE Assets: On Road or Off Road entries will display the Tool or Attachment name associated with the piece of equipment.
