Introduction:
Understanding the Auto Moves Feature: Let’s explore how Auto Moves works to simplify equipment assignment to projects. First, you’ll set up geo-zones around your job sites. When Off Road equipment is either driven or hauled into these zones, it can automatically be assigned to the corresponding project. There are two ways this happens: If Off Road equipment is hauled in and stops, the system detects a transport end packet and assigns the equipment to the project, usually set to 5 minutes. Alternatively, when On Road equipment is driven into the geo-zone, the system recognizes its entry and assigns it after the equipment remains in the zone for a set period, usually set to 1 minute. This automation helps ensure accurate and efficient tracking of your equipment.
Navigation:
To access this feature:
Go to: Manage > Equipment > Auto Move Setup.
Note: Automoves are recommended for Off Road equipment. On Road equipment are automatically assigned to Projects based on the MMS Controls page “Minimum Time in Geo-zone or Sub Geo-zone” settings.
Auto Move Setup:
How to navigate this screen.
The top section is used to select pieces of equipment. Individually or by type. The equipment you have selected will appear on the right side of the screen. Finally, the Automoves settings will appear on the left side of the screen.
Start by selecting equipment from the top section. Users may click on each box to find equipment based on Projects, Equipment Types, Asset Type, or Company.
Equipment selections will appear on the right side of the screen.
Use the “Select All” button to add a checkmark to each piece of equipment or select individual pieces of equipment.
On the left side of the screen, (recommended settings) select Transport End and Enter Geo-zone with a 5 minute minimum.
Transport End: FleetWatcher devices enter Transport Mode when the equipment is moving without the Engine On. This selection will assign the equipment to the project when the FleetWatcher device receives a Transport End packet inside a project geo-zone.
Enter Geo-zone: When equipment is driven into a geo-zone and exceeds the minimum time threshold, the FleetWatcher device recognizes the geo-zone and will assign the equipment to the project.
Click Save, (blue box on the top right of the screen)
A confirmation message with the number of assets will appear under the “Select All, UnSelect All” buttons.
Note: Auto Moves (Transport End, Enter Geozone, Exit Geozone) will also show in Alerts. If you delete Transport End , Enter/Exit Geozone Alerts, it will remove the Auto Moves setup for that piece of equipment.
Auto Move Rules:
If Transport End has been set and the equipment is in transport mode, a move will occur on a Transport End event. In this case, an Enter Geo-zone Alert will not cause a move.
If Enter Geo-zone is set the equipment will be moved when it enters a geo-zone unless the above rule is true.
If Exit Geo-zone is set the equipment will be moved to the UNASSIGNED project when it exits a geo-zone unless the same event caused a move via one of the above 2 rules.
NOTE: It is recommended to only check Transport End and Enter Geozone (5 minutes) for all Off-Road equipment. Leave the Exit unchecked.
