Alter Assignment History

Review, edit, add, delete, or merge driver and equipment assignments in FleetWatcher using this web-based history tool.

Introduction

Use the Alter Assignment History page to view and update driver/equipment assignments. You can add new records, adjust assignment times, or clean up brief gaps by merging rows.

Navigation:

To access this feature:

Go to: Fleet > Drivers > Alter Assignment History


Use This Report To:

  • View historical driver/equipment assignments for a specific date range

  • Correct assignment errors (wrong driver, wrong equipment, or incorrect times)

  • Add missing assignments manually

  • Merge assignment rows to eliminate brief or accidental gaps

  • Remove duplicate or invalid assignment entries

  • Prepare clean data for payroll, productivity, or audit reporting

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Choose how to search:

    • Select By Driver or By Equipment

    • Choose a specific Start Date and End Date

    • Click View Existing History to load the assignment history

  2. Review the results:

    • You’ll see a table showing each Assigned and Removed timestamp

    • The Actions column includes several tools to manage the data

  3. Available actions:

    • ✏️ Edit: Click the blue pencil icon to update the driver, equipment, or start/end times

    • Delete: Click the red X icon to remove the assignment

      • A confirmation message will appear before the deletion is saved

    • Add: Click the green plus icon to create a new manual assignment for a driver or piece of equipment

    • 🔼🔽 Merge: Click the up or down arrow icons to merge the selected row with the one directly above or below

      • Useful when short assignment gaps appear (e.g., 7:38 to 7:42, then 7:43 to 12:26)

      • Merges must be done one step at a time but can be repeated

  4. Where assignments come from:

    • Drivers can assign themselves by tapping Start Driving in the Driver App

    • Admins can also assign using the Assign Drivers to Equipment page

  5. Audit tracking:

    • All assignment changes are logged in the Driver Assignment Audit Report
