Introduction
Assign Drivers to Equipment allows you to manually couple drivers to equipment they operate. Driver profiles that have been created under (Add/Edit Drivers) will be listed by company. Drivers can be moved between trucks at any time, and specify when the driver was in one truck v. another.
Navigation:
To access this feature:
Go to: Manage > People > Assign Drivers to Equipment.
The top section displays a dropdown list of all active companies.
Drivers will be separated by the company.
Unassigned Drivers and Equipment are listed in the leftmost columns.
Assigned Drivers and Equipment are listed in the rightmost columns.
Assign a Driver:
Drag the driver’s name from the left Driver Names column to the desired Equipment (truck) listed in the Equipment column.
2. In the resulting popup, you may either specify the date/time the driver began operating that vehicle or click effective now in order to choose the current date/time.
3. The Driver and Equipment will be listed on the rightmost side of the screen.
Unassign a Driver:
To remove a driver from a vehicle, click the X next to the Equipment in the Assigned Equipment column.
In the resulting popup, you may either specify the date/time the driver stopped operating that vehicle or click effective now in order to choose the current date/time.
Assignment History:
Click the clock icon to display the driver’s assignment history.
App as a Device: Icon
If a driver is using the FleetWatcher Driver app as a device, a phone icon will appear to the right of their name.
Click the icon to decouple from App as a Device.
As a normal practice: Have the driver Leave Truck on the FleetWatcher Driver App, after they have finished driving for the work day.
