Introduction
The Fuel Usage Graph provides a visual breakdown of how fuel is consumed by a specific machine over time. This includes idle vs. productive fuel burn, RPM values, and overall productivity. This report is used for fuel efficiency monitoring, troubleshooting idle time, and understanding performance trends.
The graph is available for one piece of equipment at a time. The report loads blank until filters are applied.
📍 Navigation
To access this feature:
Go to: Fleet > Fuel > Fuel Usage Graph
📌 Use This Report To:
Analyze how fuel is being consumed during idle and productive time
Monitor fuel efficiency for a single piece of equipment
Compare fuel use trends with engine RPM over time
Identify periods of excessive idling or inefficient operation
View a summary of total fuel burned and productivity percentage

🧾 Step-by-step Instructions
Select a piece of equipment from the Equipment Number dropdown
(Optional) Enter a Start Date and End Date
If no dates are selected, the report defaults to the last 24 hours
Click Generate Report
🛈 Info Icon: Fuel Usage & Refueling Logic
An info icon appears next to the page title on the Fuel Usage Graph screen.
Clicking this icon opens a popup labeled Fuel Usage & Refueling Document.
Fuel Usage:
FleetWatcher Devices retain a value of fuel used, often in milliliters, that is only reset when a device is fully reset/wiped. The devices receive periodic fuel-use values, and the change is returned in gallons or liters.
Refueling:
Devices save periodic fuel percentage values and look for an increase of more than 5% in the fuel level. The minimum and maximum percentage of the fuel tank in a 15-minute span is then calculated. The change in fuel is found by the difference of these values based on the capacity of the fuel tank. Note: This only works for equipment coupled to bus-connected devices that provide fuel percentage data. If fuel capacity is unavailable, then just the difference in the maximum and minimum fuel percentage is shown.
📈 Graph Overview
When the report is generated, the top section of the graph displays:
Equipment Number
Manufacturer
Equipment Type
Total Fuel Used
Productive Fuel
Idle Fuel
Overall Productivity %
The graph includes:
Red bars for Gallons per Hour While Idle
Gray bars for Gallons per Hour While Productive
Yellow line for RPM values (mapped to right-hand axis)
X-axis = time intervals (typically 15 minutes)
Left Y-axis = gallons per hour
Right Y-axis = RPM value
Users can hover over any data point on the graph to view detailed values by time.
