First Load Notification in the FleetWatcher Mobile App

Get notified when the first truck for your project has been loaded and ticketed.

Introduction

FleetWatcher Mobile supports push notifications for the First Load event.

When the first scale ticket is issued for a truck on an active project, a notification is sent to all assigned project contacts using the Mobile App.

This helps field users stay updated when hauling officially begins.

How First Load Notifications Work

  • When a scale ticket is created (manual or automatic) and linked to a project, FleetWatcher sends a push notification to field users connected to that project.

  • The notification shows the driver’s name, asset name, date, and time of the first ticket.

  • Notifications are sent to all project contacts listed as:

    • Foreman

    • Superintendent

    • Manager

    • Other 1

    • Other 2

Important Notes

  • 🚚 Shift Activation Required: The shift must be started before the first load occurs.

  • 📋 Contact Assignment Matters: Users must be assigned to the project before the first truck is loaded.

  • 📱 Logged In Required: Users must be logged into the Mobile App to receive push notifications.

  • No Second Chances: If a user is added after the first truck is loaded, they will not get the First Load notification.

  • App Closed Behavior: If a user completely closes the app (force quit), they will not receive the push notification.

Testing First Load Notifications (For Admins)

Testing First Load behavior can be tricky. Follow these steps carefully:

(Note: If the setup fails, you must create a brand-new project and shift for accurate testing.)

  1. Create a new project with a unique project number.

  2. Create a shift linked to that new project and save it.

  3. Edit the shift and assign a user as Foreman, Superintendent, Manager, etc.

  4. Add dispatch and assign a truck to the shift.

  5. Log into the FleetWatcher Mobile App as the assigned user.

  6. Create a manual scale ticket for the same project number and assigned truck (for test purposes).

  7. ✅ The app should show a First Load push notification after the manual ticket is created.

Troubleshooting Tip

  • If no notification is received, check:

    • Is the user correctly assigned at the Project level?

    • Was the app running (not fully closed) and logged in?

    • Was the shift started before creating the first load?

  • If a mistake was made, start over with a new project/shift combo.
