Troubleshooting: Enable Notifications, Bluetooth, and Location Services in the FleetWatcher Mobile App (iPhone)

How to resolve warning messages with the FleetWatcher Mobile App

Introduction

When opening the FleetWatcher Mobile App, you might see a yellow warning banner across the top of the Home screen.

This warning appears if one or more required permissions are missing:

  • Notifications — For First Load Notifications related to project activity

  • Bluetooth — For detecting nearby BLE Asset (Bluetooth Low Energy) devices

  • Location Services — For tracking assets, job site proximity, and viewing incoming truck details during paving operations

  • Precise Location — For highly accurate GPS tracking

Important:

The warning will stay on the home screen until the issue is fixed — or until the user taps Don't Warn Me Again.

What You’ll See

  • A yellow warning banner that says:

  • "Enable Notifications, Enable Bluetooth & Enable Location Services"

  • You might see 1, 2, or 3 issues listed depending on what permissions are missing.

How to Fix Missing Permissions

1. Tap the Yellow Warning Banner

  • This opens a permissions list with red or brown status icons.

  • You can either:

    • Tap the specific issue you want to fix, or

    • Tap Go to Settings to access all app permissions at once.

2. Update Settings

Inside the app settings:

  • Notifications ➔ Tap Notifications, toggle Allow Notifications ON.

  • Bluetooth ➔ Toggle Bluetooth access ON.

  • Location Services ➔ Tap Location, select While Using the App.

  • Precise Location ➔ On the Location page, toggle Precise Location ON.

3. Return to FleetWatcher

  • After adjusting settings, tap the FleetWatcher text with the arrow FleetWatcher in the top-left corner.

  • This will take you back to the app Home screen.

✅ If all permissions are corrected, the warning banner will disappear.

If You Tap "Don't Warn Me Again"

  • The warning banner will disappear.

  • However, missing permissions may still prevent the app from sending notifications or tracking accurately.

  • Best Practice: Fix the permission settings instead of disabling warnings.

🛠 Why Each Permission Matters

Permission

Purpose

Notifications

Receive First Load Notifications related to assigned projects

Bluetooth

Detect and track nearby BLE Asset devices

Location Services

Provide real-time truck tracking, incoming truck lists for paving crews, and asset location updates

Precise Location

Enable highly accurate GPS positioning needed for reports, maps, and truck dispatching

Optional: Double-Check Permissions in Access Control

If you want to double-check that all permissions are fully enabled:

  1. Tap the three dots (...) in the top-right corner of the FleetWatcher app.

  2. Tap Access Control.

What you’ll see:

  • Green boxes with ✅ mean the setting is fully enabled.

  • Brown box without a ✅ ("Location Accuracy Reduced") means Precise Location is still OFF.

How to Fix from Access Control:

  1. Tap Go to Settings at the bottom of the Access Control screen.

  2. In the FleetWatcher App Settings:

    • Tap Location.

    • Turn Precise Location ON.

  3. Tap FleetWatcher in the top-left corner to return to the app.

✅ After correcting Precise Location, Access Control will show all green boxes with checkmarks.
