Troubleshooting: Driver App Motion Activity Warning (iPhone)

How to resolve Motion Activity access issues in the FleetWatcher Driver App on an iPhone.

Introduction

If you see an orange "Motion Activity Unavailable" warning after tapping Start Operating, it means the Driver App doesn’t have access to your Motion & Fitness data.

This guide will show you how to quickly update your Motion settings to remove the warning and stay fully connected.

When You Might See This:

  • After tapping Start Operating or Return to a truck.

  • If Motion & Fitness permissions were not allowed during app setup.

  • If Motion & Fitness permissions were later turned off in iPhone settings.

How to Fix It:

  1. On the Motion Activity Unavailable warning, tap anywhere on the warning banner.

  2. A popup will appear explaining Motion Activity access.
    Tap Turn On in Settings.

  3. You’ll be taken to the Driver App Settings screen.

  4. Find the Motion & Fitness toggle and switch it ON.

  5. After enabling Motion & Fitness, tap Driver in the upper-left corner (next to the back arrow ➔) to return to the Driver App.

  6. Once back in the app, you’ll see that the Motion Activity Unavailable warning is now gone.

Why Motion & Fitness Access Matters:

  • Motion Activity detects when you stop moving, helping the app remind you to stop operating.

  • It improves the accuracy of your shift records and operating time.
