Introduction
The FleetWatcher Mobile App makes it easy to create shifts on the go. This guide walks you through starting a shift using the Material Management section and explains each part of the shift creation screen.
Navigation
To create a new shift:
Open the FleetWatcher Mobile App
Tap Material Management from the home screen
Tap the white circle with the ➕ icon in the top right corner of the screen
This ➕ icon appears on every screen in Material Management.
Step-by-step Instructions
1. Info Section
Job Name – Required field that labels the shift
Shift Name Note – Optional internal label
Company – Defaults to your account; update only if using customer alias matching
2. Where Section
Source – Select the loading location or equipment
Destination – Select the dump or unload location
Project – Required for KPI and ticket matching
Tap Create New Project if the correct one isn’t listed
3. Who Section (Optional)
Add Foreman, Superintendent, Manager, Other 1, and Other 2
Tap Fill in contacts from the current Project to pre-load saved roles
4. When Section
Choose between Date Range or Single Day
Set Start Date and End Date
Set Start Time and End Time
5. What Section
Excluded Geozones / Equipment – Filters for LCA tracking
Material Type – Freeform label (e.g., Asphalt, Millings)
Phase Code – Optional ticket grouping
DOT – Enable if the shift/project is part of a DOT job
6. Rate Options & Rule Set
Select Rate Type (Hour, Ton, or Load)
Zone Analysis Rule Set – Used for Virtual Shift Ticket (VST) logic
7. Advanced Sections
Clock-In/Clock-Out – Optional pay/time tracking settings
KPI Targets – Add target values for Tons per Hour, First Load/Dump, etc.
Mainline Paving Calculator – Enter width, depth, weight, and target distance for paving shifts
Activate the Shift
When ready, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap:
Activate – Creates and activates the shift
Activate & Order Trucks – Starts the shift and opens the Dispatch workflow
