Edit BLE Gateway Location

Manually set or update the GPS location of a BLE Gateway device used for tracking BLE Assets.

Introduction

The Edit BLE Gateway Location page allows users to assign or adjust the physical location of a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Gateway. These gateways are USB-powered receivers installed at fixed locations like jobsites, trailers, or shops. They detect BLE Assets and help track proximity-based tool usage.

Navigation

To access this feature:

Go to: Manage > Devices > Edit BLE Gateway Location

Use This Page To:

  • Set or update the physical location of BLE Gateway devices

  • Improve BLE puck proximity tracking accuracy

  • Assign jobsite or shop-level references for tool capture

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Navigate to Manage > Devices > Edit BLE Gateway Location

  2. Locate the BLE Gateway using the ESN or Device Model (e.g., GS-103)

  3. Click the Edit button next to the desired row

  4. A popup window with a map will appear

  5. Drag the red pin to the correct physical location

    • Alternatively, enter an address in the Center on Address field and click Search

  6. Click Save changes to apply the new location

  7. Click Close to return to the BLE Gateway list

Additional Notes

  • The BLE Gateway location determines where nearby BLE-tagged tools will appear in reports or maps.

  • BLE Gateways do not move with equipment — this location setting should match the physical site where the device is plugged in.

  • Only one location can be assigned per BLE Gateway.
