Introduction
Over time, you may need to adjust a custom project type to better reflect operational needs or correct a category that impacts Virtual Shift Tickets (VSTs). This article explains how to make those updates using the Custom Project Types popup.
⚠️ Note: Changes to the Category field may immediately affect how the system treats related projects in VSTs and reporting.
Navigation
To access this feature:
Go to: Manage > Projects > Projects
Click the Project Types button at the top
Click on the name of the custom type you want to edit
Step-by-step Instructions
Click Project Types
From the New Projects page, click the Project Types button.
A popup will appear listing all custom project types by category.
Select the Type You Want to Edit
Click the name of the custom type you'd like to update.
The Edit Project Type popup will appear.
Update the Name or Category
Change the Name to better reflect the project type if needed
Update the Category only if required for VST logic or reporting
Click Save
Your changes will apply immediately
The updated type will appear under its assigned category in the list
Tips and Warnings
You can safely rename project types to clarify their purpose
Be cautious when changing categories—this affects how projects behave in VSTs
You cannot delete project types, but you can rename or re-categorize them as needed
