Overview
The new Notification system replaces the older Alerts page with a redesigned interface and expanded flexibility. Notifications are driven by equipment behavior detected by the GPS tracking device. These behaviors trigger alerts while the condition is still occurring — encouraging faster response and correction in real time.
Notifications are evaluated per equipment and based on the following logic:
The notification must be Active
The equipment must be selected
If conditions are used, they must also be met
The alert must occur during a scheduled Alert ON period

Step-by-Step: Creating a Notification
1. Company Selection
Use the Company dropdown to choose which company this notification will apply to. Only users with proper access control (ACLs) can create notifications.
This selection filters available equipment and user profiles throughout the page.
2. Active Toggle
Toggle to set the notification as Active (blue) or Inactive (white).
A notification must be active for it to trigger.
You can save a new notification in either state.
3. Name
Enter a descriptive name to help identify this notification later.
Best practice: include the behavior and any unique condition, e.g., "Idle > 30 min Foreman Alert."
4. Notification Type
Select the trigger event or behavior.
The fields below this dropdown will update depending on the type selected.
Some types include threshold or repeat settings; others do not.
5. Repeat Interval (if applicable)
Set the number of minutes between repeated notifications if the behavior continues.
Minimum: 1 minute
Maximum: Unknown
This setting only appears for certain notification types (e.g., Battery Disconnected, Excessive Speed)
6. Schedule (Optional)
Define when the alert is allowed to trigger.
Red blocks = Alert ON
White blocks = Alert OFF
By default, all blocks are ON (24/7)
Interaction tips:
Click any cell to toggle ON/OFF
Click column letter (e.g., "S") to toggle all of Sunday
Click row label (e.g., "12am") on right side to toggle that hour across all days
Click + on left side of hour row to expand to 15-minute blocks
Use scheduling to avoid after-hours alerts or tailor behavior-specific coverage (e.g., only monitor speeding during work hours).
7. Recipients
Select who will receive this alert:
Project Roles: Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, etc.
Email Recipients: Users assigned to the selected company
If a selected user lacks an Alert Email, you’ll be prompted to enter one
SMS Recipients: Users with a valid mobile number in their profile
Additional Email Addresses: Enter external email addresses manually
Snooze-enabled Recipients: Choose which users can snooze this alert
8. Use Custom Email / SMS (Optional)
Enable toggles to write a custom subject and message.
Custom messages override default content (for both email and SMS)
You can write plain text or include dynamic fields for personalization
Click Custom Properties to open a list of available variables:
Click the red icon next to a property to copy it
Paste properties into the message body or subject
Example: equipment.assetname will be replaced with the actual name
There is no limit to how many dynamic fields can be used.
9. Equipment Selection
Select the assets this notification should apply to.
Filters available: Project, Equipment Type, On-Road/Off-Road and search
Notification follows the equipment name, not the GPS device
This means the alert remains in place even if a device is swapped
You can apply to one, several, or all assets listed
10. Additional Conditions (Optional)
Add custom logic such as:
"Only trigger if speed > 30 mph"
"Only while in Project X"
Choose whether All or Any conditions must be true.
Reminder: If you set conditions but forget to select equipment, the notification will not trigger.
11. Submit
Click Submit to save your new notification.
The system will validate required fields and highlight any missing input
Upon successful save, you’ll return to the Notifications list
Duplicating Notifications for Tiering
Use the Duplicate button on the View Notifications page to create tiered alert structures.
Example: Idle Duration Tiers
Create "Idle > 10 min" alert
Duplicate it, update to "Idle > 20 min" and change recipients
Repeat for additional tiers (e.g., "> 30 min" to escalate)
Use the "Duplicated From" column to track source alerts.
