Introduction
This feature is a fantastic tool for controlling when your equipment can be started and operated. If you have jobsites that require certain schedules, machines that you do not want operating outside of scheduled hours or even safety or security concerns for certain machines, FleetWatcher’s Starter Disable can help.
Requirements:
FleetWatcher’s Starter Disable feature requires the devices to be hardwired onto the machines with an extra wire run to the starter. It also requires a Starter Disable configuration to be programmed onto the device. These devices can be programmed to operate at standard reporting intervals.
NOTE: Use the Install Guide for instructions on how to wire the device for Starter Disable.
Navigation:
To access this feature:
Go to: Manage > Equipment > Starter Disable
Report Filters:
Once you successfully navigate to the Starter Disable screens, select your Report Filters. You are able to specify the Equipment, Equipment Type and/or Project to which you wish to apply the disabled settings, or leave all three on “all” to apply the settings for all equipment.
Note: Only equipment that has a device programmed with the starter disable configuration will display on this screen. If you do not see the equipment you are expecting to see, please request that your FleetWatcher representative verifies that the correct configuration has been applied to its installed FleetWatcher device.
Change Setting:
When the page generates your desired list of equipment, click the “Change Settings” button.
The resulting popup window will allow you to choose what schedule your equipment should follow.
White squares mean the equipment is able to be started; red squares mean the equipment has been disabled.
Clicking the gray weekday or hour boxes allows you to highlight an entire row or column.
In the example below, the pieces of equipment selected are disabled through the entire weekend, and then from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am overnight through the weekdays.
Apply To Selected Equipment:
White squares mean the equipment is able to be started
Red squares mean the equipment has been disabled.
Clicking the Gray weekday or hour boxes allows you to highlight an entire row or column.
In the example below, the pieces of equipment selected are disabled through the entire weekend, and then from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am overnight through the weekdays.
To save your selected settings, click the “Apply to Selected Equipment” button at the bottom of the schedule popup.
Once you have saved your Starter Disable settings, you will notice your equipment lines turning orange, indicating a discrepancy between the requested schedule and the schedule set on your FleetWatcher device.
The requested schedule will take effect on the next device transmission, and the settings will display the FleetWatcher user who set the schedule.
View Schedule:
To review a requested schedule or a schedule set on your Fleetwatcher device, simply click the “View Schedule” button for the equipment you wish to see. You are able to adjust the schedule as needed from the resulting popup. Just ensure that only the equipment you wish to adjust the schedule for is selected, and deselect any others that are also on the screen due to your report filters.
Toggle:
In order to assist with being able to rapidly select or deselect equipment, especially when a large number of pieces is present onscreen, Fleetwatcher has included a “Toggle” button next to the “Change Settings” button. This will allow you to select or deselect all pieces simultaneously.
