SMS Opt-In Health

View and manage SMS opt-in/out status for Drivers, Users, Hired Haulers, and FOB Clients to ensure reliable message delivery.

Objective:

Use this feature to monitor and manage which contacts have explicitly opted in or out of receiving SMS text messages across your entire fleet operation.

The Feature at a Glance:

We have expanded SMS visibility to include Hired Hauler Contacts and FOB Clients, alongside existing Users and Drivers. This update ensures that you have a "central source of truth" for message deliverability, allowing you to see exactly why a contact may not be receiving automated texts based on their personal opt-in history.

How to Use This:

1. Checking Contact Opt-In Status

To see the current messaging status of any contact in your system:

  1. Navigate to Manage > MMS > SMS Opt-In Health.

  2. Review the summary headers for Users, Drivers, Hired Hauler Contacts, or FOB Clients to see overall engagement.

  3. Identify the contact's current state based on their category:

    • Opted-In: The contact has explicitly agreed to receive texts.

    • Opted-Out: The contact has sent a "Stop" command and is currently blocked from receiving messages.

    • No Action: No explicit history exists for this number yet (Unknown state).

  4. Verify the Phone and Email columns to ensure you are looking at the correct record.

Assisting Contacts with Opt-In/Out Commands

If a contact is not receiving messages but wants to, text Start to 765-563-1300.

If they wish to stop receiving them, they can control this directly from their phone using these keywords:

Action

Keywords (Text these to FleetWatcher)

Result

Stop Receiving Texts

STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE

Messages are blocked immediately.

Resume Receiving Texts

START, YES, UNSTOP, SUBSCRIBE

Messaging is reactivated.

Pro-Tip / Troubleshooting:

If a message in your logs shows a "Internal by Suppression list" tooltip, it means the system blocked the text before it was sent because the recipient is on the DND (Do Not Disturb) list. Check the SMS Suppression page to see if they have accidentally opted out by texting "STOP."
