Why a Driver Didn’t Receive a Notification

If a driver did not receive a text notification from Dispatch, review the items below. All conditions must be met for messages to send successfully.

1. The driver must have a valid mobile number in FleetWatcher

Go to Manage > Company > Drivers and confirm the mobile number is correct.

If the number is missing or incorrect, notifications will fail.

2. Messaging must be enabled for the event type

If messaging is turned off for the specific dispatch event, no notifications will be sent.

Check this setting:

  • MMS > Dispatch > Dispatch Board > Settings (top right corner) > Messaging Recipients

Confirm that Text messaging is enabled for:

  • New Order

  • Assignments

  • Cancel / Pause / Un-Pause

  • Rained Out / Resume

  • Delay Times

  • Edit Assignment

3. The driver must be assigned to the order

Drivers only receive messages for assignments that include their specific truck or profile.

If the driver is not assigned:

  • Add or update the assignment on the Fulfill tab.

4. Messaging behavior for driver assignments must match your setup

Go to:

  • MMS > Dispatch > Dispatch Board > Settings (top right corner) > Messaging Behavior

Confirm that:

  • Notify Drivers is turned on for the event type

  • Driver messaging behavior is set correctly for your workflow

5. The driver may have opted out of receiving text messages

All dispatch text messages support opt-in and opt-out controls.

  • Drivers can opt out at any time by replying Stop

  • Drivers can opt in again by replying Start

  • If a driver needs assistance, replying Help returns Earthwave Support contact information

Note: Replies are not case-sensitive.

If the driver opted out previously, they must text Start to 765-563-1300 to restore messaging.
