Shift Prerequisites

Before creating a shift, make sure your Projects, Geo-zones, and Equipment are set up correctly.

Introduction

Creating a shift in FleetWatcher requires a few setup steps to ensure everything runs smoothly. By preparing your Source, Destination, and Project information ahead of time, you’ll avoid errors and improve tracking accuracy.

Requirements

1. Projects

  • Each shift must be linked to a Project.

  • Projects define:

    • The geo-zones used in the shift

    • The job site for reporting and ticket matching

Need help creating a project? See: Create and Edit Projects

2. Geo-zones

  • A Source is where material is picked up (e.g., plant, mill, excavator)

  • A Destination is where material is delivered (e.g., paver, dump site)

  • These locations must be created and assigned to the Project

Need help creating geo-zones? See: Set Up Geo-zones

3. Equipment

  • To appear in a Source or Destination dropdown, equipment must:

    • Be labeled Off Road

    • Have a Geo Radius of at least 150 feet

Set this in: Manage > Equipment > Add/Edit Equipment
