Trip Report

Analyze trip-level data including run time, idle time, and alerts for a single piece of equipment.

Introduction

The Trip Report provides a breakdown of each trip taken by selecting an individual piece of equipment during a specific date range. You can review key trip metrics like distance, runtime, idle time, and optional alert activity — all on a per-trip basis.


Navigation

To access this feature:

Go to: Fleet > IFTA > Trip Report


Use This Report To:

  • 🚛 Review trip-by-trip data for a selected piece of equipment

  • ⏱️ Analyze run time, idle time, roll time, and supporting time

  • ⚠️ See alert activity during trips (when enabled)

  • 📍 Access breadcrumb trails and location addresses

  • 📊 Export data for reporting or operational review

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. In the Asset Type dropdown, filter by On-Road or Off-Road

  2. Under Report Filters:

    • Set your Not Moving Threshold in minutes (used to define when a trip ends)

    • Or check “Show trips as ENGINE ON to ENGINE OFF” to define trips based on GPS engine packets

      • 🔒 When this box is checked, the Not Moving Threshold will be disabled

  3. Set a Minimum Trip Time to exclude very short trips

  4. Select a piece of Equipment from the dropdown (required)

  5. Choose a Start Date and End Date

  6. Under Format Options, choose your Time Format:

    • Decimal

    • Minutes

  7. Under Report Options, choose:

    • % Calculations (checked by default) — shows percent-based columns (e.g., Idle Time %)

    • ⚠️ Alert Counts — adds columns for alerts triggered during each trip

  8. Click Generate Report ▶️


Understanding the Report

The report displays each trip the selected equipment took during the date range, broken down into:

  • 📆 Trip Start / Trip Stop

  • 🚗 Miles Traveled by State

  • ⏱️ Run Time, Idle Time, Roll Time, and Support Time

  • 📊 Percentage values (Idle %, Roll %, etc.) if % Calculations is enabled

  • 📍 Address of the trip’s final location

  • 🔵 Breadcrumb button to view GPS trail for that trip

📎 If Alert Counts is checked, the report will also show:

  • Excessive Speed Alerts

  • Enter/Exit Geo-zone Alerts

  • Excessive Idle Alerts

  • Not Moving Alerts

  • Unauthorized Use Alerts

Note: Alert data is only shown for equipment with the Alerts feature enabled.


Additional Features

  • 🔗 Click the Equipment Number to open the Equipment Details popup

  • ⬇️ Use Print Table, Download CSV, or Excel Formatted CSV to export the report

  • 🔍 Click any Breadcrumb button to open the GPS breadcrumb trail for that trip
