Cycle Time KPI

Track the average round-trip time from load to dump to monitor jobsite efficiency and truck turnaround.

Introduction

Cycle Time measures how long it takes for a truck to complete one full haul cycle — from loading at the Source to dumping at the Destination and returning to repeat the cycle. It's one of the most important KPIs for understanding shift efficiency and truck utilization.

Description

Cycle Time

Average time (in decimal minutes) to complete a full load–haul–dump–return cycle for each truck on the shift


How It's Calculated

  • Start: When a truck is loaded at the Source

  • End: When the truck dumps at the Destination

  • The system calculates time between these two points and averages all cycles across all trucks

  • For the final load (if no return trip), the dump time is estimated using standard offsets

For scale-integrated customers, Cycle Time uses scale ticket timestamps and geo-zone events.


Why It Matters

  • Measures how efficiently trucks are cycling material

  • Helps identify delays at the Source or Destination

  • Supports better truck count planning and plant pacing


Color Coding

  • Green, yellow, or red based on KPI thresholds from MMS Controls

  • Lower cycle times = more efficient shifts


Notes

  • Requires accurate Source and Destination geozone setup

  • Cycle Time is available for both MMS and CMS shifts

  • Appears in Shift Cards, Completed Shifts, and KPI exports
