Introduction
The Productivity Report provides a high-level view of fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, and job-site costs. It is an essential tool for identifying high-idle assets and verifying off-road charges.
Best Practice: This report is data-intensive. To ensure optimal performance and prevent system timeouts, it is recommended to run the report for date ranges of 30 days or less.
Navigation
To access this feature:
Go to: CMS > Next Gen Productivity > Productivity on All Projects
Productivity on All Projects:
Report Filters & Navigation
At the top of the Productivity page, you can customize the data using the following:
Date Range: Defaults to the last 7 days. Use the Start and End date pickers to adjust.
Filter by Equipment/Project Type: Click the blue tags to include/exclude specific categories.
Blue: Included in the report.
White: Filtered out of the report.
Action Buttons: Use Generate Report to refresh data or Download CSV to export the table to Excel.
Column Definitions & Calculations
Below is the logic used to generate the metrics in this report.
Utilization Metrics
Run Time: The total duration (in decimal hours) the asset was powered on.
Productive Time: * Calculation: Run Time - Idle Time
Note: Represents the time the machine was actively working.
Productive %: * Calculation: Productive Time / Run Time X 100
Idle Time: The duration the engine was running but the machine was not performing work.
Idle %: * Calculation: Idle Time / Run Time X 100
Roll Time: Accumulates only when the engine is running and movement exceeds the GPS threshold (typically 1.83 MPH or 7 MPH depending on device config).
Note: Slow-moving off-road assets (e.g., rollers) may show 0.00 Roll Time if they do not meet these speed thresholds.
Fuel & Costs
Fuel (Gal) Total: The total fuel consumed during the Run Time.
Fuel (Gal) Active vs. Idle:
Calculation: Total Fuel = Active Fuel + Idle Fuel
Off-Road Rate: Pulled directly from the Add/Edit Custom Equipment Type settings.
Off-Road Charge:
Calculation: Off-Road Rate X Run Time
Example: If a Material Transfer Vehicle has a rate of $125.00 and 26.28 run hours, the charge is $3,285.00.
Note: If an asset shows $0.00, verify that a rate is assigned to that specific Equipment Type in the Add/Edit Custom Equipment Type settings
Summary Totals & Averages
The bottom of the report provides a snapshot of the entire fleet's performance for the selected period.
Totals: The sum of all values in the column (e.g., total fuel used by all assets).
Averages (Weighted): Percentage totals (e.g., Idle %, Productive %) are weighted ratios. For any total row, the report recomputes the percentage using the summed time components (e.g., Total Idle Hours ➗ Total Run Hours), rather than taking a simple average of the percentages shown in the rows above.
Excluded Equipment
At the very bottom of the report, you will find a list of assets "excluded due to no run time." These are assets that were assigned to the project or filtered type but recorded 0.00 hours of activity during the selected date range.
Interactive & Clickable Features
The Productivity Report provides several "quick-access" links that allow you to dive deeper into project and asset data without navigating away from your current view.
Project-Level Navigation
1. Project Name (Top Left): Clicking the project name link will navigate you back to the main Productivity by Project overview page.
2. View / Edit Button: Located directly next to the project name; clicking this opens the Project Details page in a new window, allowing you to modify project parameters or schedules.
Asset-Level Quick Links
Located directly under each Asset Name are two action icons that trigger pop-out windows:
3. Info Icon (Left): Opens a pop-out of the Equipment Details page.
4. Globe Icon (Right): Opens a pop-out window showing the Breadcrumb Trail for that specific piece of equipment.
Note: The breadcrumb trail automatically syncs to the same date range selected for the report, allowing you to visually verify the GPS activity for the exact period you are reviewing.
Data Export
5. Blue CSV Button (Top Right): Clicking the blue box labeled with the Project Name + CSV will immediately download the raw data from this specific report. This is the fastest way to export filtered data for custom analysis or payroll integration.
Export Options
Click Download Full CSV Report to export the entire dataset
Click Download Full CSV Data to access a more detailed export
You can also export data by project from within the report
Important Notes
Minimum Activity Rule: Equipment must log at least 1 hour per day on a project to be included in this report
This report serves as a launch point for drilling into the Productivity by Project Report directly
You can also access Productivity by Project from the menu (CMS > Next Gen Productivity > Productivity by Project). Select a project from the dropdown and choose a date range to view graphs and trends by equipment type
