Introduction
The Idle Summary Report is a specialized tool designed to isolate and analyze non-productive engine time. It helps managers identify which assets are exceeding company idling standards and provides a direct link to established Idle Alerts.

To access this feature:
Go to: CMS > Summary Productivity > Idle Summary
Report Filters & Options
Minimum Runtime Threshold: This filter allows you to focus on excessive idling by ignoring short, necessary stops. For example, setting this to 5 minutes will only include idle events that lasted for 5 continuous minutes or longer.
Idle Alert Counts: Selecting this checkbox adds a column displaying the total number of Excessive Idle Alerts triggered by the asset during the selected period, tied to your specific system configurations.
Format Options: * Output Format: View the report on-screen or export as a CSV File.
Time Format: Choose between Decimal (e.g., 1.5) or Minutes (e.g., 90).
Understanding Format Options: Viewing and Exporting Reports
The Format Options section determines how your data is delivered. Please note the physical layout of the page: the Generate Report button is located above the Format Options dropdown. You must make your format selection before clicking Generate.
Option 1: Viewing on Screen (Default)
When the Output Format is set to Screen, the report will generate directly within your browser.
Reviewing Data: This is the best mode for using interactive charts, sorting columns, or clicking equipment numbers for drill-down details.
Generating a PDF or Physical Copy: If you need to print or save the report, look for the "Printable View" link located exclusively in the top left corner of the generated report.
Clicking this will open a formatted popup window and trigger your computer's standard print dialog.
From here, you can select your personal printer or choose "Save as PDF" to store the document on your device.
Option 2: Exporting a CSV File
To move your data into Excel or another spreadsheet program, you must change your output settings prior to running the report.
Scroll down to the Format Options section below the Generate button.
Change the Output Format dropdown from "Screen" to "CSV File."
Once the selection is made, scroll back up and click the Generate Report button.
The screen will refresh. Look for the link labeled "Click here to download your report" located in the center of the page where the data table would normally appear.
Click that link to save the file. It will be sent to your computer's default downloads folder.
CRITICAL: Filter Reset Behavior
Please be aware of the specific "Single-Use" behavior of the Idle Summary filters.
The Reset: Once you click the Generate Report button, the system processes your request and immediately clears all selections (Dates, Equipment, and Projects) from the filter fields.
The Workflow Impact: Because the filters do not "stick" after the report appears on your screen, you cannot simply switch from Screen to CSV File and click generate again.
The Recommendation: To avoid re-entering your data, always verify your Output Format before clicking the Generate button. If you need both an on-screen review and a CSV download, you will currently need to enter your filter criteria twice.
Visual Analytics
Pie Chart: Provides a project-wide visual of the ratio between Idle Time and Productive Time.
Bar Graph Button: Opens a comparison window to identify the "top idlers" in your fleet side-by-side.
Table Navigation
Default Sorting: The report automatically sorts by the highest Idle Time % first, placing the least efficient equipment at the top.
Equipment Drill-Down: Clicking any Equipment Number will open the Equipment Details page for deeper investigation into that specific asset.
