How to Control the Direction of "Apply Time Shift to All Subsequent Assignments"

Explains the new checkbox that lets you choose whether a time shift applies to assignments above or below the row you changed.

Overview

When you change an arrival or load time on one assignment row in Dispatch, you can use "Apply Time Shift to All Subsequent Assignments" to apply that same time change to other rows automatically, instead of updating each row by hand.

By default, the direction the time shift applies to depends on which way you moved the time:

- If you move a time later (for example, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM), the shift applies to the rows below the one you changed.

- If you move a time earlier (for example, from 6:00 AM to 5:00 AM), the shift applies to the rows above the one you changed.

This can be confusing, because "subsequent assignments" sounds like it should always mean "the rows below," even when the time is moved earlier. A new checkbox now lets you take direct control of the direction, so you don't have to rely on guessing which way the tool will apply the change based on the time you entered.

Numbered Steps: Apply to assignment above/below:

1. Go to MMS > Dispatch > Dispatch Board and open the order you want to update.

2. Find the assignment row where you want to change the arrival or load time.

3. Enter the new time for that row.

4. Check Apply Time Shift to All Subsequent Assignments.

5. If you want to control which rows the time shift applies to (above or below the row you changed), use the new checkbox next to this option to set the direction directly.

6. Confirm the change. The rows you selected will update to reflect the new time.

7. Review the updated rows to make sure the times look correct before notifying drivers or brokers.

NOTE: In this example the Load Time has been adjusted.

Notes:

- Moving a time later shifts the rows below the one you changed. Moving a time earlier shifts the rows above the one you changed. This is expected behavior, not an error.

- Use the new direction checkbox if you want to choose exactly which rows (above or below) the time shift applies to, no matter which way you moved the time.

- This feature does not change any rows on its own — it only applies when you check the "Apply Time Shift to All Subsequent Assignments" box.
