Introduction:
Follow-Find is a feature on the Locator screen in the FleetWatcher mobile Field App (iOS and Android). When you are viewing the location of a piece of equipment, Follow-Find lets you search a fixed radius around it for other nearby equipment, see those results in a list along with live status details, and switch to following a different piece of equipment with a single tap. You can also narrow the nearby list to hired haulers only.
This article covers the mobile Field App only. It does not cover the Map Follow Find option on the web Map page, which is a separate, older feature.

How to Use Follow-Find
1. Open the Locator for a piece of equipment
From the Field App, go to the Locator screen and select the piece of equipment whose location you want to view.
2. Tap Follow
Tap the red Follow button on the equipment's location screen.
3. Choose a radius
At the top of the screen, choose a radius: 0.5 miles, 1 mile, or 5 miles. These are the only three options; there is no field to type in a custom radius.
4. Choose All or Hired Haulers Only
Below the radius options, under Show, choose All or Hired Haulers Only.
All shows every active piece of nearby equipment within the chosen radius.
Hired Haulers Only narrows the nearby list to hired-hauler equipment only.
5. Review the Following panel
Slide up the panel from the bottom of the screen.
At the top, a green Following indicator shows the truck number of the equipment you're currently following.
A Stop Following button lets you end following.
Below that, the panel shows engine details for the equipment you're following.
Below the engine details, the panel lists nearby equipment within the radius and Show filter you selected.
6. Tap to follow a different piece of equipment
Tap any item in the nearby list to switch and start following that piece of equipment instead.
Troubleshooting
**No nearby equipment appears:** If the equipment you're viewing doesn't currently have a GPS location, the nearby list will come back empty, since there's no reference point to measure distance from.
**Expected equipment is missing from the list:** Check the All / Hired Haulers Only setting under Show. If it's set to Hired Haulers Only, non-hired-hauler equipment will be filtered out of the nearby list even if it's within the radius.
**Distance seems off:** Distance is measured from the current GPS location of the equipment you're following, not from your own device's location.
Good to Know
Follow-Find on mobile is separate from the Map Follow Find option on the FleetWatcher web Map page. They are different features on different platforms.
The radius options (0.5, 1, and 5 miles) are fixed; you cannot enter a custom radius.
The radius is always in miles in the mobile app, regardless of locale settings.
