How to Add a Company Placeholder
Open the dispatch order and select the Fulfill tab at the top of the page.
Scroll to the Add Trucks section beneath the time slots.
In this section, locate the three filter buttons: All, Company, and Type.
Select Company.
This changes the list to show companies and the assets assigned to each one.
Find the company you want to reserve a slot for.
To the right of the company name, look for the placeholder icon.
The icon looks like a padlock with a small clock.
Click the placeholder icon.
A placeholder row is added to the next available time slot in the order.
The row will display “Placeholder for [Company Name],” as shown in the screenshot.
Note: Each click adds one placeholder, so click the icon once for every slot you need to reserve for that company.
Good to know: Once you add a company placeholder to an order, that company's haulers automatically show up in the Brokers list on the Messaging tab. This means you can send a message straight to that company, like a schedule update or instructions, without having to send a full dispatch request first.
Replace a Placeholder With an Actual Truck
A placeholder can be replaced with a confirmed truck, driver, or write-in entry once you know who is filling the slot.
Before You Begin
Placeholders can only be updated after the order has been saved.
When the line turns green, it is ready to be replaced.
How to Replace a Placeholder
Click Save on the Fulfill tab so the placeholder line turns green.
On the placeholder row, click the replacement icon on the right.
The tooltip reads “Add a specific driver or asset from [Company Name].”
A popup appears with three options:
Equipment: choose the confirmed truck from the company’s asset list
Drivers: assign a specific driver tied to that company
Write In: manually enter a truck or driver not listed in the system
Select the correct equipment, driver, or write-in.
Click Save in the popup.
What Happens Next
The placeholder text is replaced with the asset name, driver name, or write-in value.
The line remains green to confirm the assignment.
The order can now be notified or updated like any other assigned slot.
Callout: Warning for Assets Assigned to Another Shift
If you select a driver or piece of equipment that is already scheduled on another active shift, a warning appears in the popup.
You have two options:
Choose a different driver or equipment to avoid a conflict.
Use the conflicted asset anyway by selecting Switch Over.
Switching over removes the asset from the other shift and assigns it to the current order.
This allows you to resolve conflicts directly during fulfillment while keeping the dispatch schedule accurate.
Remove Unused Placeholders
Return to the Company Placeholders section.
Click the delete icon next to any placeholder no longer needed.
Click Save.
