Verifying the Unit Light Status
The status indicator lights are located beneath the device cover. Under normal operating conditions, you should observe two solid lights and one flashing light at all times.
When the device receives an engine running packet, a fourth light will briefly illuminate for approximately one second and then turn back off. The same momentary illumination will occur when an engine off packet is received. This brief activation is normal and confirms that the device is successfully receiving and processing engine state data.
If No Lights Are Visible
If you are not seeing any lights on the device, follow these steps:
1. Verify All Connections
Check the connection between the device and the diagnostic port. This includes confirming that the 6-pin Deutsch connector is fully seated.
In some cases, one or more pins inside the connector may not make full contact because a pin has been pushed back from repeated plugging and unplugging.
Inspect both sides of the connector to ensure all pins are aligned and fully seated.
2. Reset the Device
Once the connections have been verified, locate the Reset button under the device cover.
Press and hold the reset button for 2 to 3 seconds, then release.
Observe the device to see if any indicator lights turn on following the reset.
3. Check the Diagnostic Port
Ensure the device is receiving power from the vehicle’s diagnostic port. This can be verified using a multimeter.
If the diagnostic port is not supplying power, inspect the vehicle for a blown fuse or other electrical issues.
A diagnostic port without proper power will prevent the device from charging correctly, which may result in no indicator lights on the device.
Verifying proper power at the diagnostic port is an essential step in troubleshooting connectivity or light-status issues.
4. Contact Support
If all connections have been verified, the device has been reset, and proper diagnostic port power is confirmed, but the device still shows no lights, please contact Support for further troubleshooting and assistance.
