1. Preparation
Before beginning the installation, verify that you have all required tools and materials. You will need:
Zip ties
Electrical tape
Adjustable pliers or a flathead screwdriver
The dual-lens camera unit
The mounting bracket or adhesive pad (included)
Cleaning wipes (Included)
Power/OBD harness (as provided)
Ensure the vehicle is safely parked, powered off, and on level ground before proceeding.
2. Locate the OBDII Power Source
Locate the OBDII port inside the vehicle. This port is typically found:
Beneath the dashboard
Near the steering column
Inside the driver’s footwell area
This location will be used only to supply power to the camera system.
3. Install the Power Harness
Remove the OEM OBDII port from its bracket by pressing the retaining clips using pliers or a flathead screwdriver.
Install the supplied harness into the bracket where the OEM port was mounted.
Connect the OEM port to the harness to maintain diagnostic accessibility.
Connect the camera’s power connector to the remaining end of the harness.
(Optional but recommended) Use electrical tape around the connection to prevent vibration-related disconnects.
4. Determine Camera Mounting Position
The dual-lens camera must be mounted:
High and centered on the windshield
Behind or near the rearview mirror
With a clear and unobstructed view of both the road and the vehicle cabin/rear-facing area
Not interfering with airbag deployment zones
Ensure the windshield area is clean using alcohol wipes before mounting.
5. Mount the Dual-Lens Camera
Install the adhesive pad or mounting bracket on the cleaned windshield area.
Position the camera so that:
The forward lens faces the road ahead.
The rear-facing lens is angled toward the driver cabin or desired interior view.
Firmly attach the camera to the bracket to ensure stability.
6. Align the Forward-Facing Lens
Using the camera app “VisionAgent” adjust the front lens:
Horizontally level: The horizon line should be straight across.
Centered: The center vertical line should align with the vehicle’s lane or road center.
Vertical framing:
Bottom 10–20% of the frame can show a small portion of the hood.
The remaining frame should show the road ahead clearly.
Make small adjustments until alignment falls within visual tolerances.
NOTE: The VisionAgent app can be downloaded from The APP Store “iPhone” or Play Store”Android”
Your VisionAgent login credentials for the installation are included in the shipment packet you received.
7. Align the Rear-Facing Lens
The rear-facing lens should capture the interior or rear-facing cabin area. Align using these standards:
Centered: The camera should be aimed straight back—not tilted left or right.
Full Cabin Visibility: The frame should show the driver area and/or rear cabin space, depending on the intended purpose.
No Obstructions: Ensure the lens is not blocked by mirrors, sun visors, or dash accessories.
8. Secure All Wiring
Route the power cable along the windshield edge and down the A-pillar.
Use zip ties and existing cable channels to secure the wiring.
Avoid:
Airbag deployment paths
Sharp metal edges
Moving mechanical parts
Excess cable should be bundled neatly and secured with zip ties.
9. Power On and Initialize the Camera
Turn on the vehicle.
Allow 3–10 minutes for the camera to:
Power on
Download updates (if applicable)
Connect to the network and begin recording
Indicator lights may flash during this period.
10. Verify Proper Operation
Using the mobile app VisionAgent
Confirm forward-facing video feed is clear and properly aligned.
Confirm rear-facing video feed has proper coverage and alignment.
Confirm GPS and telematics (if supported) are transmitting.
Check that recording has begun and the device shows “online” status.
11. Final Validation
Perform the following before completing installation:
Start the engine again to ensure the camera powers on consistently.
Verify both lenses remain stable and aligned after vibration.
Ensure no cables are loose or exposed.
Validate a short test recording to confirm correct functionality.
Once all checks pass, the camera installation is complete.
