FleetWatcher Authorization Role Definitions

A complete guide to FleetWatcher Authorization Roles, mapping website menu options to detailed ACL definitions for precise user access management.

Fleet

Device

  • App As A Device Audit Reports: Grants user access to App as a Device Audit Reports.

    • Note: Provides access to "App as a Device Usage Audit," "App as a Device Fleet Status," and "App as a Device Not Transmitting" reports.

  • Report Device: Allow user to use Device Reports.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Reports >> Devices >> menu.

Equipment

  • Report Equipment: Allow user to use Equipment Reports.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Reports >> Equipment >> menu.

Maintenance

  • Manage PM: Allows user to create / modify equipment PM records, as well as adjust Hour Meter and Odometer.

    • Note: On mobile, tapping the Maintenance button on the Locator Map will enable existing PM record viewing and the creation of new records.

  • Report Maintenance: Allow user to use Maintenance Reports.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Reports >> Maintenance >> menu.

  • Manage DVIRs: Manage DVIRs approving, denying, adding signature, and review DVIR reports.

Location

  • Report Location: Allow user to use Location Reports.

    • Note: This ACL also allows the user to access the Locator & Current Fleet Status Report in the Mobile App.

  • Move Equipment: Allows user to assign equipment to projects.

    • Note: Includes managing the "automove" setup.

Driver Safety

  • Driver Safety: Allows user access to driver safety screens.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Driver Safety Leaderboard and Driver Safety Details reports.

  • Report Third Party Safety: Allows user to view Driver Safety information for all third party equipment.

    • Note: Users can also omit driver infractions for 3rd party trucks; requires the "Driver Safety" ACL as a prerequisite.

  • DS Audit: Allows user to audit Driver Safety Events and History.

    • Note: Allows the user to update omissions, refresh the drivers dropdown, and view infraction breadcrumbs.

  • Camera Events: Allows the user to view and manage the Camera Events page.

IFTA

  • IFTA Reports: Allow user to view ifta reports.

    • Note: Requires the "Report" ACL to view the Reports menu.


MMS

Shifts

  • Manage MDS: Allows a user to access the MDS system.

    • Note: Provides the ability to End/Unend shifts, access Load Cycle Analysis, and manage Freight Report options.

  • Report KPIs: Allows user to view Key Performance Indicators.

    • Note: Used to conditionally show KPI data on shift cards.

  • Report KPIs Edit: Allows user to edit Key Performance Indicator target values.

    • Note: Also allows Ending and Un-ending shifts; should be added in conjunction with "Report KPIs".

  • DOT: Restrict Access to DOT.

    • Note: Restricts the user to a limited DOT version of the website including Scheduled Shifts and Scale Ticket Summary.

  • Restrict DOT access to breadcrumbs: To prevent DOT users from seeing breadcrumbs and location data.

    • Note: Hides the LCA and Map View on completed shifts and makes the DOT home screen the default.

  • Restrict DOT access to dump information: Prevents DOT users from seeing dump times and locations.

    • Note: Restricts viewing dump location and date/time data on all website and mobile Scale Ticket Reports, including PDFs.

  • View All Shifts: Allow user to view all shifts.

    • Note: This includes DOT shifts; if the user has the DOT ACL, they are restricted to viewing only DOT shifts.

Production

  • Report Plant Production: Allows user to view the MDS Plant Production Report.

    • Note: DOT users will also be able to see plant production if this is assigned.

  • Report KPIs Dashboard: Allows user to view Executive Dashboard of Key Performance Indicators.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Executive Scoreboard and Real-Time Scoreboard under MMS.

  • Read Only MDS: Restricts user to read only access of MDS system.

    • Note: Disables most settings on the MDS Controls screen and hides the Shift Ticket button from LCA screens.

Load Cycle Analysis

  • Load Cycle Analysis (Read-Only): Allows access to Load Cycle Analysis (Read-Only).

Dispatch

  • Report Dispatch Read Only: Allows user read-only access to any Dispatch data.

    • Note: Restricts access to make or save edits on Dispatch; also enables the "Add/Edit Hired Hauler" link if Manage Equipment is provided.

  • Report Dispatch By Project: Allows user read/write access on any of the projects where they are manager.

    • Note: Intended for Foremen to view/edit dispatch only for projects where they are assigned as project manager.

  • Report Dispatch Request: Allows user to make dispatch requests of 3rd party hired haulers.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Dispatch Request Report.

  • Report Dispatch Edit: Allows user to View and Edit any Dispatch data.

    • Note: Allows adding trucks/drivers to assignments and making requests of 3rd party haulers.

Virtual Shift Tickets

  • Zone Analysis Rules: Allows the user to Add/Edit Zone Analysis Rules.

    • Note: Specifically allows access to Zone Analysis Rule and Zone Analysis Rule Set menus.

  • Invoice History: Allows access to Invoice History.

  • Virtual Shift Ticket Summary: Allows access to Virtual Shift Ticket Summary.

  • Manage Shift Ticket: Allows a user to access Shift Ticket information.

  • Manage VST: Allows user access to Virtual Shift Ticket.

    • Note: Necessary to access any Shift Ticket related screen; shows the Shift Ticket button on LCA screens.

  • Shift Ticket Multi-Step: Allow user to approve tickets in review stage.

    • Note: Decides who can check the "Require a two step process" box and who can see "In-Progress" tickets.

Scale Reports

  • Modify Scale Ticket: Allow user to edit Waste Tons and Notes on Scale Tickets.

    • Note: This is for mobile use; users can edit waste tons and notes within the mobile app.

  • Scale Ticket Summary: Allows Access to Scale Ticket Summary.

  • DOT Custom Access Ticket: Allows a DOT user to see the Custom Scale Ticket Report, not the Summary or Detail.

Project Access Management

  • Manage Project: Allow users to change project data.


CMS

Next Gen Productivity

  • Report Productivity: Allow user to use Productivity Reports.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to Reports >> Productivity >> and Reports >> Next Gen Productivity >>.

Summary productivity

  • Report Idle: Allow user to use Idle Reports.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to Reports >> Idle >> and Equipment >> Settings >> Activity Threshold.

Project Reports

  • Report Projects: Allow user to use Projects Reports.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Reports >> Projects >> menu.


Manage

Devices

  • Manage Devices: Allows a user to access Device Manager and Equipment Assignment.

    • Note: Used for equipment_device_check and overrides specific ACLs like Starter Disable, Activity Threshold, and Idle Threshold.

  • FST Mobile Access: Grants user access to FST on Mobile Devices.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Devices >> FST option on mobile.

Equipment

  • Manage Equipment: Allow a user to add / modify equipment.

    • Note: Also allows the user to manage devices under Equipment >> Settings.

  • Starter Disable: Allows the user edit settings for the Starter Disable feature.

    • Note: This ACL is overridden by the Manage Equipment ACL.

Alerts

  • Report Alert: Allow user to use Alert Reports.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to the Reports >> Alerts >> menu.

  • Manage Alert: Allows user to create / modify alerts on equipment.

    • Note: Also allows the user to snooze all received alerts.

Company

  • Company Information: Allows the user to edit Company Information for the account.

    • Note: Used to manage details like company name, website, and PM warning thresholds.

  • Company Divisions: Allows the user to Add/Edit Company Divisions within the account.

    • Note: The specific purpose is to manage divisions that a device-authorized person would see and choose from.

  • Modify Company Info: Allows a user to modify your company address, phone number, etc..

    • Note: Allows login and access to Company Information, Company Divisions, and Driver Safety Settings tabs.

People

  • Manage Users: Allow users to modify other users in the same company.

    • Note: Grants access to Manage Team, Login History, Shift Reprocess Reports, and more.

  • Manage Drivers: Allow users to manage Driver Creation/Updates and assign drivers to trucks.

    • Note: Allows use of Add/Edit Drivers, Assign Drivers, and the Driver Assignment Audit Report.

  • Manage Certifications: Allows user to view and manage certifications for all employees.

  • Mobile All Apps: Allows user to use any mobile app.

    • Note: Currently not being enforced; the Login ACL and Driver App Access ACL typically control mobile access.

Projects

  • Custom Project Types: Allows the user to Add/Edit Custom Project Types.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to Projects >> Create/Edit Custom Project Type.

  • Report: Allows user to view the report tab.

    • Note: Controls visibility of the Reports menu but does not grant access to individual reports.

MMS

  • MDS Controls: Allows the user to adjust the settings for MDS Controls and calculations.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to Material Management >> MMS Controls.

Integrations

  • Manage View Point: Allows user to access Viewpoint Integration features.

    • Note: Specifically allows access to Viewpoint Equipment and Project Upload features.

  • Manage Integrations: Allows user to view Scale integration tools.

    • Note: Specifically grants access to Integrations >> Scale Integration.

  • E-Logs: Allows the user to view E-Logs.

    • Note: Specifically allows the user to view the E-Logs menu; requires the E-Logs feature flag.

Legacy Reports

  • Report MDS: Allow user to view MDS reports.

    • Note: This ACL (or Read Only MDS) allows access to MMS Reports and legacy benchmarking reports like Rolling Tons Per Hour.

Paperless

  • Paperless Access: Permission revokes all other permissions and limits access to paperless.

    • Note: Limits users to the Scale Ticket Summary report; on web, users are presented with a limited homescreen.

  • Paperless Access Read Only: Revokes all other permissions besides read only paperless.

    • Note: Has the same behavior as Paperless Access but restricts all edit functionality.

Other ACLs

  • Web Service Read: Allow this account 'read' use of Web Services, but not login to Fleetwatcher.

    • Note: Allows 3rd party apps to ingest data. Warning: If used for a live user, it removes their ability to log in.

  • Web Service Write: Allow this account 'write' use of Web Services, but not login to Fleetwatcher.

    • Note: Allows 3rd party apps to push data. Warning: If used for a live user, it removes their ability to log in.
